Full Tilt Fever: Amateurs Continue to Ace MiniFTOPS

MiniFTOPS was on its way to being a success by the results of its first ten tournaments alone, with each one surpassing its guarantee and racking up a cumulative prize pool of $2,272,410. And the second ten events only added to that success with an additional $1,454,920 in prize money awarded. For a set of tournaments that boasts of reasonable buy-ins - only 1/10th of the size of the FTOPS - the MiniFTOPS was making quite the splash as tens of thousands of players clamored to take their shots at Full Tilt Poker money and glory.

Though Full Tilt Pros were in charge of hosting each tournament, most events found none of them even finishing in the money. Only one Full Tilt Pro, Sascha Biorac, final tabled in Event 12 and finished in seventh place. But the PokerWorks family saw one of its own soar at a final table, when Billy “Barbarbones” Monroe found himself in the last round of the NLHE 4x Shootout and finished in a very respectable fourth place for a $1,944 payout, his second largest cash to date. (Congratulations from the team, Billy!)
