Online Poker Sites Round Up: The Million Dollar Challenge, Your Shot at the Big Time and You Can Get Something Free For Christmas

You probably got your start in poker by watching it on TV. Now PokerStars is giving you the chance to appear on one of poker's hottest shows and possibly inspire others to learn the game.

The "Million Dollar Challenge" starring Daniel Negreanu did so well that PokerStars wants to bring it back for a second season. That means now's your chance.

You're running out of time, as daily freerolls run until Jan. 10. Finish in the top 10 in one of those four tournaments a day and you'll need to put together a short video and submit it.

Hey, this is TV. You gotta earn your star, kid. The video needs to show PokerStars why you'll dazzle Negreanu and the rest of the audience. One video showed men wearing diapers as they played, so you'll have to think of another idea. Sorry.

You're probably familiar with the show, but Negreanu will coach you if you make it through a series of heads-up matches against Team PokerStars Pros and celebrity poker players. You'll earn up to $25,000 this way.

Then you have to risk the money to play against Negreanu for a shot at $100,000. Beat him and you'll win the $100,000 and a shot at $1,000,000.

You probably got started in poker through TV. Now you need to see if you can take your game to the next level to get some screen time yourself.

Titan Poker is giving you a shot at the big time too. It's not a spot on TV, but we can't all be stars. We can, however, win life-changing money, and you'll find it at the Irish Open.

Satellites are running now for a slot at the Main Event. The $7,200 package includes money for the buy-in (half the money just goes to that, so you know the payouts are pretty sweet), with five nights in a hotel in Dublin, a party and the flight to get there.

Super Satellites, for instance, are running every Sunday night with a $250 + $18 buy-in. Can't afford to put up that much? Yeah, me neither. But Titan understands, too, and is offering qualifier satellites to the Super for as low as $2. Other, cheaper Super Satellites are running throughout the week as well.

There's plenty of time, as the Open doesn't start until April 1, but you might want to start now, so you don't look like a fool when you miss out. Get it? April 1? Fool? I know. Funny.

Speaking of freerolls, since that seems to be the common theme, Winner Poker is offering round-the-clock freerolls open to players who have signed up during the last 90 days. You can register four times in a week, so if you don't win it all the first time (and here's a secret, that's hard to do, even in a freeroll), you'll get another chance.

Not only that, but Winner's also hosting freerolls for those who deposit real money. So you could be a free bird, man, (any Skynrd fans out there?), all day long, with 12 different tournaments.

Ultimate Bet is hosting its own series of tournaments, and this series is online. The UBOC 4 is that site's answer to the WCOOP on PokerStars or Full Tilt's FTOPS, and more than $1 million is up for grabs this time.

The series starts Jan. 20 and will run through Jan. 31, but you can start preparing now through STEP tournaments and satellites into the bigger buy-in competitions.

One of this year's highlights is the site's Bubble Buster promotion. You can earn entries to tournaments or cash prizes up to $1 million. Yep, that's right, $1 million to any player (not just one or two) who clocks up 11 cashes during the UBOC 4 .

Of course, 11 is pretty tough. But to get a bonus, all you have to do is cash in two events to win an entry to a $10,000 freeroll.

Four new competitions also highlight this event, including a satellite contest that rewards the player who wins the most satellite entries for that entry with two times the buy-in for that event in tournament dollars. Take second place and you'll win one extra buy-in.

So not only will winning a satellite entry save you money, it may earn you extra cash as well.

A ton of freerolls are out there for winning multiple satellite contests as well. If you satellite your way into four or more seats, you'll earn a shot to share $15,000 in prize money through three freerolls. And all you have to do is qualify for two satellites to earn one freeroll.

The STEP contest gives away a buy-in to the 2010 Aruba Poker Classic in addition to a seat in the $1,000 + $50 UBOC Championship.

We'll talk more about the UBOC later, but for now, start working your way toward winning those satellite events.

One person who, amazingly enough, could maybe use those points is Tom "durrr" Dwan, who had to drop down in stakes recently on Full Tilt. We thought he was hurting and this confirms it, just weeks after he signed as a Red Pro for the site.

Of course, we have no doubt that with Dwan's skill, his nose will be bleeding soon enough.

Another nosebleeder, Isildur1, lit the world on fire for a couple months, but now many believe he's busted. It's hard to know if anyone else will match his million-dollar streak, but eventually his wild, unpredictable play caught up to him.

You can watch what Patrik Antonius (who is one of the reasons both are either dropping down or have vanished completely) thinks of Isildur1's play at the Full Tilt Academy offered by Full Tilt for free. All you have to do is sign up.

We'll leave you this week as we go back to TV. This time Full Tilt's offering satellites to the World Poker Tour. They've already started and they're running until Feb. 28, so there's plenty of time to get started.

You can qualify for a $12,000 prize package (which includes the whopping $10,000 buy-in) that will take you to the L.A. Poker Classic or the famous Bay 101 Shooting Star Championship.

Every Sunday from now until Feb. 28 there will be a $500 + $35 qualifier that awards two prize packages. Another qualifier for $300 + $22 will take place on Tuesdays and a bigger one takes place on Thursday.

As always, you can use your points or win a seat into these satellites through smaller qualifying tournaments if you don't want to drop the big money.

Anyone who enters a tournament will also receive an entry for the exclusive WPT Celebrity Invitational Freeroll.

You can download all the software for the rooms listed above on PokerWorks and get some juicy extra bonuses for doing so. Like even more freerolls.

Sheesh. Another freeroll? You'd think it was Christmas or something.
