Online Poker Room Round-Up: Your Favorite Poker Rooms are Still Spreading Holiday Cheer!

Did you get what you wanted for Christmas? I kinda did. I got a few gift cards and a couple books.

If you didn't get what you wanted for Christmas, maybe you can stop by the PokerStars store and get yourself some swag. There are iPods, books to improve your game (I should probably get another one there soon), and lots of other stuff to take your mind off that two-outer you just suffered during your drunken session after you got home from New Year's Eve.

OK, so for years you've known about points programs on poker sites. But PokerStars is making it a little easier to get that swag.

PokerStars reduced the points you need to reach the SilverStar status - all you need is 750 points, down from 2,000 when the program was introduced in 2006 - and that's important because you need Silver Star to get some of the better swag. Oh, and you can qualify to turn your points into cash when you're a Silver Star. To - you know - help pay for more of those drunken poker sessions.

You can also earn cash by getting a certain number of points in a year. PokerStars will PAY you small bonuses when you reach the milestones. Nice. You can earn $100, for instance, just by reaching 50,000 points.

Finally, when you're a SilverStar, you get 1.5 times the amount of points on your play.
But speaking of cash bonuses, PokerStars is offering a reload bonus of up to 25 percent bonus up to $150 if you deposit by Jan. 10. Use the code "2010," and you'll have up to 60 days to clear the bonus by, of course, earning more points.

If you're more of a tournament player, you might check out the Head Hunt bounty tournament that runs Jan. 4. You can play in an exclusive online tournament featuring the stars of the PokerStars Million Dollar Challenge, including Daniel Negreanu. You'll also play for a share of the $100,000 prize pool, and you can earn bounties by knocking out such contestants as Father Andrew Trapp ($100), or show celebrities such as John Salley ($250), or PokerStars Pros ($500), or "defenders" such as Barry Greenstein ($750) or Negreanu himself ($1,000).

PokerStars isn't the only poker site with a TV show, and now Ultimate Bet's getting in on the action with "Poker2Nite," a show that debuted on The Poker Channel Europe a few weeks ago.

Team UB Pro Joe Sebok and poker journalist Scott Huff put on a weekly news program (rather than dissect another all-in between A-K and 6-6). The show's is already a big success on Fox Sports Net.

To help celebrate the launch, UB is giving away a couple of World Series of Poker packages. To enter the freeroll, you must obtain a secret code given away on the Wednesday night broadcast on the Poker Channel or FSN. If you are one of two players, you'll earn a buy-in to the WSOP Main Event (valued at $10,000), hotel accommodations, an airline ticket and a training session with UB pro Phil Hellmuth or Annie Duke.

The show runs 23:00 EST Wednesdays on FSN and 22:00 CET on the Poker Channel Europe.

Another big event is the Aussie Millions, and Full Tilt's offering seats to it. The Aussie Millions is Australia's answer to the World Series of Poker, with a huge main event that offers life-changing money.

You can win a prize package worth $14,500, which includes a seat to the Main Event, hotel accommodations, an entry to an exclusive $50,000 freeroll and travel expenses. You'll even get instruction from Team Full Tilt pros. See the site for more qualifiers.

From the steep to the cheap, Full Tilt is also offering a $10K Daily Dollar Rebuy every day. One buck gives you a shot at $10,000 in guaranteed prizes. It's unlimited rebuys for the first hour, with one add-on at the end of that hour. A second Daily Dollar starts with a first-place prize of more than $1,500 and more than 1,000 places paid.

This is a perfect way to start a Chris Ferguson challenge of your own.

If a buck is too much (and believe me, I can relate, as I've said before), Winner Poker and PokerWorks are teaming up to offer $9,000 worth in freerolls this month and $50,000 for the year. That's right! Free poker!

You must download Winner through PokerWorks, and when you make a minimum deposit, you'll earn a poker point, which is your ticket into the freeroll. The parties start on Jan. 5, but if you missed out on a chance to qualify for this one (hurry because that offer ends Jan. 3), you'll still get many shots at a freerolll this month.

The one you shouldn't miss is a $6,000 freeroll on Jan. 12. You have to earn 25 points instead of one to qualify, but you have until Jan. 10 to do so, and really, you can probably earn that many in an hour playing in a low-limit cash game.

In fact, any one of these sites listed today is available through PokerWorks, and we're throwing in bonuses for every one of them.

Here's other examples: You can get $50 free just for signing up for Titan Poker through PokerWorks, and you get the same bonus by signing up for Party Poker.

Some of our favorite poker sites are still giving out holiday treats for the New Years. But that doesn't give you the excuse to overindulge in everything else - including those with, um, holiday "spirits" - while you're playing.
