Online Poker Room Roundup - Time To Travel The World

When your parents asked you when you were younger what you wanted to do with your life, I'm not going to say that smoking pot and sitting on the couch watching reruns of "WKRP in Cincinnati" was one of them.

I'm also going to assume that running for president wasn't one of them either. Who wants that job?

But I'm guessing traveling the world was high on the list.

Well, at least one of them is attainable now.

(Yes, I realize that the first IS attainable, too, but let's both assume that our parents read this roundup and try to remain focused, shall we?)

As we've said before, PokerStars has a poker tour for just about every part of the country (no Antarctica tour yet, but I think it's coming soon), but the site enjoys hosting tournaments to get you to them.

The first example is the European Poker Tour that will soon be heading to Germany's capital. EPT Berlin takes place from March 2-7, and you can, as always, win a package to get there. The package, as always, includes the buy-in, accommodations and spending money.

Satellites are taking place now for just 100 FPPs, which is a reasonable night for many of you.

The good thing is, some of you may not have to travel far at all to take advantage of PokerStars' latest announcement: The new North American Poker Tour will offer $5,000 bounties on the next stop.

The new event for the Venetian stop in Las Vegas on Feb. 23 and 25 is a $25,000 Higher Roller Bounty Shootout, and it's almost unlike any other tournament on the tour.

It's a shootout, so you'll have to essentially win a 9-person, $25,000 sit-and-go just to make the money. But every player, not just the stars, will have a $5,000 bounty on his or her head.

Not only that, but PokerStars is adding $100,000 to pay off whoever scores the most bounties.

Some of the stars expected to be there include Daniel Negreanu, so it should be a lot of fun, and we've heard dozens of other big-name players expect to be there as well.

Guess what? You can enter satellites to win your way into NAPT events. But you probably already guessed that by now.

But let's say you'd rather tour the whole world, not just travel to one tournament. PokerStars has you covered there as well, but it's going to be tough.  Win your way to the top portion of the site's Yearly Tournament Leader Board, and you could win as many as five "stamps" on your passport.

That gives you the choice of five different events across the site's poker tours. Get going on that now if you want enough points by the end of the year. And stay tuned because PokerStars will be giving away other chances for passports all year long.

You also need to get going if you want to qualify on Full Tilt for the World Poker Tour.

The WPT LA Poker Classic or WPT Bay 101 Shooting Star Championship events stop running qualifiers on Feb. 28.

These packages are worth $12,000, including the $10,000 buy-in of your choice and $2,000 for travel expenses. The fun doesn't stop there either, as anyone who enters a WPT Qualifier tournament will also receive an entry to the WPT Celebrity Invitational Freeroll.

There's also satellites available for the satellites, and these cost as little as $.50 or 50 Full Tilt points. You'll probably want to take advantage of these, as the cheapest buy-in to these WPT qualifier events is $300 + $22.

Ultimate Bet's
also throwing in seats to the WPT LA Poker Classic, and these are also $12,000 packages. But you've got to win your way there as well. The Main Event starts on Feb. 26.

You can win your way in through satellites that are running now and starting at just $10. That can get you a spot in the Sunday Super Satellites, and that's where you can earn your seat.

Or you can even win your way in for $.10 - that's right, a dime - for a shot at the same prize package.

Chili Poker's
also giving you a chance to tour the world , putting up seats at three land-based events.

First is the Les A London Open to play in the prestigious Les Ambassadeurs Club Casino in London's Mayfair. The all-inclusive package includes a stay from the Hilton Park Lane Hotel from Feb. 22 to 25, meals and a buy-in to the tournament.

The second will send you to Spain for the next stop on the ECPoker Tour in Barcelona. That tournament runs from March 18 to March 21 and includes expenses, four nights at the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Barcelona and a ticket to a party.

Or you can head to Ireland for the Irish Poker Open from April 1-5. This is in Dublin, Ireland's capital. You'll get five nights at the Burlington Hotel in Dublin and money for a party.

Satellites into these super satellites are all running now.

Titan Poker
isn't offering you a ticket to the world - not anything we'll talk about here for now - but during the month of February you'll get some cash in the Double Up promotion so you can buy your own plane ticket.

The prize pool totals $250,000 in cash prizes and tokens.

The Double Up leader boards rank players based on their participation in Double Up Sit n Go tournaments. You'll receive ranking points according to the buy-in amounts. If you manage to win (Double Up in this case), you'll win more points.

So even if you lose, you win, and if you win, you REALLY…um…win.

Oh, I know, this just favors the big bankrolls, right? Well, not really. There are three leaderboards, and one of them is for buy-ins from $1 to $5. The bigger the buy-ins, however, the bigger the cash prize at the end, as $5,000 will be awarded to the top leaderboard of $50 and up.

There will be winners every week.

You'll also earn a $535 token to the Monthly Million Guaranteed tournament, and you don't even have to finish first to get one (though first place DOES earn a token). If you finish 11th, 21st, 31st and 41st on each leader board, the token is yours, and "bubble" tokens will be handed out if you just miss the prize.

As always, you can download the software to these and almost all other rooms right here at PokerWorks, where we've got your ticket to send you around the world.
