An annual tradition continued at the Aviation Club de France in Paris on the evening of Friday, February 12, as the ninth European Poker Awards took place at a poker star-studded, dressy affair that preceded the European Finals of Poker. High Stakes Poker returned last night for its sixth season, with AJ Benza no longer in the broadcast booth with Gabe Kaplan. Instead, Kaplan was handling all of the play-by-play himself, with Kara Scott down on the floor available to interview players after critical hands. The lineup of players to begin the season was a formidable one.

Each year in March, one of the most anticipated annual poker events takes place in Las Vegas. And it is now official that the sixth annual NBC National Heads-Up Poker Championship will return to Caesars Palace for another run. From March 4 through 7, there will be a list of 64 invited players asked to buy in for $20,000 each, and the bracket-style tournament will play for the $1.5 million prize pool, all to be televised on NBC.
