Vitaly Lunkin Receives Top Honor at European Poker Awards

An annual tradition continued at the Aviation Club de France in Paris on the evening of Friday, February 12, as the ninth European Poker Awards took place at a poker star-studded, dressy affair that preceded the European Finals of Poker. And after all of the nominations were in and the votes tallied, it was Vitaly Lunkin of Russia who walked away with the top honor of 2009 Player of the Year.Lunkin was up against Jeff Lisandro, Dragan Gallic, Paul Spillane, and Antoine Saout for the Player of the Year category. NBC National Heads-Up Poker Returns for Season 6 in March

Each year in March, one of the most anticipated annual poker events takes place in Las Vegas. And it is now official that the sixth annual NBC National Heads-Up Poker Championship will return to Caesars Palace for another run. From March 4 through 7, there will be a list of 64 invited players asked to buy in for $20,000 each, and the bracket-style tournament will play for the $1.5 million prize pool, all to be televised on NBC.
