For the first time ever in the world of online poker, the Online Cash Game Championships are about to begin, courtesy of PartyPoker. Here’s your chance to prove that you have what it takes to be an online poker champion in a battle of wills and poker skills - known as the 2010 Online Cash Game Championships.

This unprecedented event is open to anyone with enough poker savvy to come out on top and claim the crown. And it doesn’t matter a bit if you are, or are not, a regular high-stakes player! With $250,000 up for grabs, this is an endeavor worth undertaking, even though the fight to victory will be fierce. Expect packed tables in this frenzied March event, but know that the thick of things will eventually thin out and only the best will remain to battle it out for the title and the cash.

Here is how it all works: The competition will be divided into seven levels with players needing to play 400 hands a day for each level. Only those who are the most profitable will advance onward and upward towards the final table to be filled with only the best players, who will gather to prove themselves on the second day of April.

The first level of the competition will take place from March 1st through March 5th on the PartyPoker $0.50/$1 No-Limit Texas Hold ’em (NLH) cash tables where the top 30 percent of players will proceed to the next level. All other players will be given another opportunity in the Second Chance level from which the top 10 percent will proceed to Level 3.

Level 2 will run from March 8th through March 12th in the form of $0.50/$1 NLH from which the top 30 percent of players will receive a $50 cash prize and proceed to Level 3. In Level 3, at the $1/$2 NLH tables, players will compete from March 15th through March 17th with the top 30 percent winning a $200 cash prize and advancing to Level 4.

Level 4 will take place at the $1/$2 NLH tables from March 22nd through March 23rd and the top 50 players will be awarded a $400 cash prize and proceed to level 5. In Level 5, the stakes will be $2/$4 NLH and the dates will be March 25th and 26th. Then it will be the top 18 players who will win a $3,000 cash prize; with $1,500 to be used as the ‘buy-in’ for their seat at the next table and the remaining $1,500 to be credited to their PartyPoker account.

On March 29th at 16:00 ET with stakes of $5/$10NLH, Level 6 kicks off with the final 18 players. These finalists will be judged on their win rate over a total of 500 hands and they must play a minimum of 400 hands to be included. The top six players among Level 6 will win a whopping $10,000 cash prize, with $5,000 going towards their seat at the final table of Level 7 and the remaining $5,000 being deposited into their PartyPoker account.

The grand final action will take place on April 2nd at 16:00 ET, where the remaining six players will compete in a $5/$10 NLH game. Players will be judged on their win rate over a total of 500 hands and again, must play a minimum of 400 hands to be eligible. The first place finisher will receive an amazing cash prize of $40,000, followed by $20,000 to the second place spot, and $10,000 for third.
