The sixteenth running of the Full Tilt Online Poker Series is nearing its start date of April 23, and players all over the world are preparing for it. Whether honing their skills in daily tournaments or logging on to Full Tilt Poker for the first time and getting acquainted with the site, players have FTOPS wins and potentially life-changing money on their minds.

One of the many exciting things about FTOPS is the opportunity to win in various ways. Sure, there are the tournaments, of which there are 30 scheduled and more than $18 million in guaranteed prize money. Over the course of ten days, the number of tournaments - not to mention satellites - available is almost unprecedented for such a major series. But there are other challenges and exciting ways to win that surround the FTOPS.

Of course, there are the tournaments, with their massive guarantees and prize pools, where players can turn a few dollars from a satellite tournament into a payout that can change their bankrolls and poker lives forever. And everyone who makes a final table walks away with a limited-edition FTOPS jacket, though winners also receive a gold FTOPS jersey and gold jersey avatar for use on Full Tilt Poker.

Speaking of satellites, take special note of the Satellite Challenge. It’s a fairly simple promotion that offers players prizes for winning multiple entries into the same event. While the first satellite win into a particular tournament will win entry into it for a fraction of the cost, any additional satellite victories for the same event will result in equivalent tournament dollars being added to your online account. Win as many as you like for those tournament dollars can be used for any event on Full Tilt, even those not associated with FTOPS. And become the player who wins more than any other for a certain event, and double those tournament dollars as a bonus.

The Leaderboard Challenge is also a simple one. Accumulate points through solid performances throughout FTOPS. The winner of the challenge, the one with the most points, will win a prize package valued at more than $9,000. It will include entries into each of the FTOPS XVII tournaments in the late summer with the sole exception of the two-day event, as well as a custom Full Tilt Poker avatar.

Winners who take home FTOPS titles during this event will join previous FTOPS winners in a unique Tournament of Champions that will take place online on Saturday, May 8. The player able to win that prestigious event will walk away with a prize package that includes a $10,000 entry to the 2010 World Series of Poker Main Event.

For those who don’t grab a FTOPS victory this year, there are consolation prizes. In fact, the Bouncebackability Freeroll is a prize for all who actually finish on the bubble of an FTOPS event. Of course it hurts to come so close to the money and bust just shy of it, but those players will automatically be entered into an exclusive freeroll on May 8 that will offer a $10,000 WSOP Main Event seat to the winner. Bubble players get a special chance to “bounce back!”

But it should be said that none of these opportunities matter much if you don’t have a Full Tilt Poker account. To change that is as easy as downloading Full Tilt Poker and setting up a new account with the bonus code “POKERWORKS.” Not only are you then ready to get into the FTOPS action, but you’ll be qualified - through that bonus code - to earn 100% bonus money on any deposit up to $600 through simply playing cash games or tournaments on the site.

It’s been said that you can’t win if you don’t play, but it’s true! FTOPS is on the horizon with a start date of April 23. Don’t miss out!
