WSOP Bubble Insurance from Hollywood Poker

Every player, especially those who make a living playing tournament poker, wants to finish first; that’s a given. The real money is always found in the top few spots. But there’s one place no player wants to finish—on the “bubble.” Just ask Jordan Smith, the 27-year-old poker player from College Station, Texas who busted on poker’s ultimate bubble at last year’s WSOP.

Smith was eliminated holding pocket Aces when Darwin Moon, a 45-year-old logger from Oakland, Maryland called his all-in bet on an 8-2-4 board and flipped over pocket 8’s for a set. Smith didn’t walk away empty handed, he won $896,730 for his 10th place finish. And while that is a fairly tidy sum, it fades in comparison to the $8,547,042 First Place prize claimed by Joe Cada!

Like death and taxes, it’s a certainty that some players at this year’s WSOP will find themselves in the same situation—busting just outside the final table and a shot at the big money. But having Hollywood Poker’s ‘WSOP Tournament Bubble Insurance’ could help soften the blow!

If a player finishes within the first five positions below the final paid position at this year’s World Series of Poker Main Event Championship #57, and has tournament bubble insurance, Hollywood Poker will secure them a seat to the 2011 WSOP Main Event. And players can qualify for the insurance regardless of whether they won their way into the big event in one of Hollywood Poker’s satellites, are a registered Hollywood Poker player who is going to the live event on their own bankroll, or even if they won their ticket on another site.

To be insured for WSOP 2010, register by clicking the ‘WSOP Tournament Bubble Insurance’ button on Hollywood Poker’s ‘My Account’ page. You’ll have from the moment you click to register until July 4, 2010 to earn 1,500 Poker Points and that’s it—you’re insured!

If you’re not already a Hollywood Poker member, now is the perfect time to get started. You have nothing to lose and a lot to gain—right from the start. And that includes Freeroll Tournaments for this year’s WSOP! Earn 1,000 Poker Points in April and get a ticket to Hollywood Poker’s May 1 Freeroll Tournament and/or the month of May and get a ticket to the June 5 Freeroll Tournament. Join these freerolls to get your chance to win a $300 + $20 ticket to WSOP 2010 Online Finals on May 2 and June 6.

You can also win a seat to this year’s WSOP by working your way up the levels in Hollywood Poker’s Sit & Go Tournaments with buy-ins of $3 + 0.30, $10 + $1, and $50 + $4 or in scheduled tournaments with buy-ins of  $5 + 0.50, $30 + $3. And if all else fails, you can always Buy-in direct for $300 + $20. Online Finals for the Main Event Championship #57 will be held on Sunday April 25; May 2, 9, 16, 23, 30; and June 6. Online Finals for Side Event #51 will be held June 29-July 2 and for #56 on July 2-5.

All told, 11 Main Event Packages and 6 Side Event Packages are up for grabs. Main Event Packages include Main Event Buy-in worth $10,000, luxurious accommodations up to 13 days at the 5-Star Wynn Hotel worth $3,000, airfare and spending money worth $3,000, as well as Hollywood Poker clothing and merchandise. And, exclusively for Hollywood Poker players, a $5,000 Warm-Up Tournament—a private event that will serve as a practice ground for the players.

Side Event #51 and #56 Packages are each worth $10,000 and include entry to event (#51 worth $3,000/#56 worth $2,500), accommodations for up to 10 days at the 5-Star Wynn Hotel worth $2,200, airfare and spending money worth $2,300, and Hollywood Poker clothing and merchandise.
