Poker Room Roundup: Letting the Poker do the Talking

You thought Rush Poker was cool?

You should try Rush Tournaments!

OK. I know that's a pretty lame introduction to this week's poker room roundup. But, really, sometimes the news is good enough that you don't need a bunch of fancy writing to make it exciting.

And the latest news from Full Tilt Poker fits that. At least I think so, and I'm the one writing this.

Rush Tournaments act the same way that Rush Poker works, which is what makes this so cool. You fold a hand, and you get shipped to a new table, full of anxious players just waiting to crack your Aces.

When your Aces get cracked, you either lose all your money and go home, or you get shipped to another table full of players ready to crack your Kings.

(I realize what I'm describing is actually Poker Hell. It's a lot more fun than that).

No waiting. No fuss. Just fast action.

I personally will stick to the cash games for now - they remain my crack cocaine to my poker habit - but these fast-as-lightning poker tournaments make me want to give them a try.

If you're having bankroll issues, or if you're a beginning player, or even if you're just playing like one, then PartyPoker may be the place for you. PartyPoker has a place for beginners who might be overwhelmed by, say, having to play a new hand every three seconds.

Make a real money deposit at PartyPoker, and you'll get exclusive entries into the site's daily freerolls for 60 days.

That's two months of free tournaments. You can enter daily freeroll qualifiers to a $2,500 weekly freeroll, and if you finish in the top 200, you'll get an entry into a $10,000 monthly freeroll. Pretty sweet. That's a big way to build your bankroll in a hurry.

Guess what? You can download the software for PartyPoker here at PokerWorks, and if you do, you'll get $25 absolutely free with another $25 to follow after you accumulate points. That's another way to build a bankroll, I think, and I'm the one writing this. But you probably agree with me on that point at least.

OK, I'm giving you another couple of ways to get to the World Series of Poker (actually I'm just writing about them, but bear with me here). Every online poker site on Earth is doing something right now as the world's biggest tournament approaches, but these two offers are pretty unique.

The first is Ultimate Bet's $1,000 bonus. If you qualify for a $13,000 Main Event WSOP package, and if you show up wearing UB gear, you collect an extra $1,000 at the end of the tournament just for showing up.

See, the dirty little secret is the WSOP won't allow direct buy-ins to the tournament, so the site has to give you the money in the hopes you'll enter. Well, as you might guess, not everyone enters. That $13,000 is just too much to pass up.

UB Poker is answering those temptations, I'd say, with the bonus money just for playing.

Hollywood Poker is offering up another unique way to get you to the WSOP Main Event and another reason to actually play the event. It's called bubble insurance, and it essentially means there is no bubble.

The best part? Besides not bubbling? Yeah, Hollywood is giving you that insurance even if you don't qualify through them. Did you win your ticket on Full Tilt? Hollywood will still insure you. Just click on the Hollywood Poker Insurance button and you'll have until July 4 to earn 1,500 Poker Points. If you do, you're insured with a buy-in to next year's Main Event, as if you were Phil Hellmuth on "High Stakes Poker."

Hollywood, of course, does have its own satellites for cheap to get into the WSOP, too, so it's kind of like one-stop shopping. It's like we're in a poker mall or something.

Speaking of summer - well we were speaking of the WSOP and to me that says summer - PokerStars is celebrating our favorite season with the Summer Festival of Free Poker. This promotion is open to UK and Ireland PokerStars players, but the site IS offering freeroll tournaments every night for cash prizes and the chance to qualify for a Big Bucks Grand Final. I'd say how much that really is but I honestly don't know how to make that Pounds sign on my computer.

It's big, trust me.

The festival just launched and includes at least four daily freerolls with cash prizes, celebrity bounty tournaments and the qualifier to the big game.

It almost makes me want to play a tournament that actually gives me a moment to think before I"m whisked away to a new table.

But nah.
