Tame the Lioness and Bag a Bounty at 888/Pacific Poker

Leonor “Leo” Margets is one of the hottest female poker players on the world circuit. A relative newcomer to the game, Margets is already known world-wide as the Last Woman Standing in the 2009 World Series of Poker, joining the elite ranks of Barbara Enright, Susie Isaacs, Marsha Waggoner, Annie Duke, and Sandra Naujoks. And now online players can try to beat feisty “Leo” and win a bounty of up to $1,000 in the process—only at’s Pacific Poker!

Every Thursday at 7:00pm GMT, Pacific Poker hosts the “A Por Ella” tournament. For a buy-in of $10 + $1, players can try to knock “Leo” Margets off the table and claim a bounty. A knockout on the first Thursday of each month is worth a whopping $1,000 bounty and a $250 bounty on other Thursdays. In addition, the bounty winner as well as the overall winner of the event earns a place in the next “A Por Ella” tournament. And this time, they will start out with a $50 bounty on their heads!

Even better yet, players who knock out 888poker’s bounties “Leo” Margets and Shane Warne or come in 1st or 2nd in one of the twice weekly WSOP Bounty tourneys will have an amazing chance at winning a $15K WSOP package or a $5K WSOP side event package in the WSOP Bounty Freeroll, just one of 8 ways to win one of 88 WSOP packages at 888/Pacific Poker.

But getting your paws on “Leo’s” poker stack and cashing in on the bounty won’t be an easy task. She isn’t exactly a pussy cat in the poker jungle—she’s a roaring lioness that will protect her stack at all costs. Margets says she is playing the best poker ever and it’s paying off. “I’ve actually never played so good,” she said. Hailing from Barcelona, Spain, Margets first discovered the game in 2005 when a man refused her drink invitation because he wanted to play poker. That night she played her first game and has been developing her skills ever since. She actually won the first live event she played—The University Championships—held in her hometown.

The highlight of Margets’ career thus far came when she finished 27th in last year’s WSOP Main Event, outlasting more than 6,400 players including former Main Event winners Phil Hellmuth, Scotty Nguyen, Greg Raymer and Peter Eastgate and earning a cool $352,832. More recently, she battled the likes of Joe Hachem to become the last member of 888poker’s celebrity team standing in the $2K No Limit Holdem Six-Max event at the 2010 Aussie Millions, which was worth $54K.

What’s next for the Spanish-born 888poker pro? The 2010 World Series of Poker of course! And 888poker will have all the VIP coverage for the prestigious poker event on its new “Behind the Scenes” website, just one of a raft of new initiatives and promotions from 888poker.
Now the question is: do you think you’ve got what it takes to beat Leo, cash in on a bounty, and have a chance at winning a fantastic WSOP package? If so, register in the “A Por Ella” tournament by going to the Multi-table tab at 888/Pacific Poker. And if you don’t have an account, now is the perfect time to open one. But hurry, seats in the Bounty tourneys are limited and the WSOP will be here before you know it!
