Online Poker Room Roundup: Time To Dream Big

Admit it. You've dreamed about it.

You've dreamed about going to the World Series of Poker.

For some reason, I've thought about it a lot lately. I'm honestly not sure why, but I've daydreamed in the shower, on a run, or just before I go to sleep. I don't know if it's the life-changing money, the glory of the cameras on me or having about 20 billion chips shoved my way after I win a nine-way pot with a pair of Jacks in my hand (my favorite hand, by the way).

Maybe it's just because it's so close. It's less than a month away. And I've said this many times in the last few weeks, but just about every poker site wants to get you there.

Just look at Full Tilt. There are almost too many opportunities to list here. But I'm going to do it. I'm running a marathon Sunday. I'm all about endurance.

The first is the Main Event Challenge sponsored by Full Tilt's Poker Academy. This one offers a $12,000 Main Event prize package, the chance to learn one-on-one with a member of Team Full Tilt, and if you outlast that instructor in the Main Event, you'll win an extra $5,000 in addition to the cash you'll surely be swimming in.

On a side note, Annette Obrestad just signed with Full Tilt, and now that she's turned 21, she'll be destroying the WSOP this year. She already has a Main Event Europe bracelet. Maybe she'll be your instructor. Good luck outlasting her.

Freerolls for this promotion have already started and will run until June 20. There are many other ways to help you get to Round 2, including finishing in the top 100 of a "Sit-N-Learn." Winners of those Round 2 freerolls advance to the challenge final on June 20, and if you win that, you win the package.

But that's not all. You can also Race to the Main Event by playing in a round-the-clock Main Event Race Round 1 Sit n Go. You'll qualify for the Round 2 if you win, and if you finish in the top two of a Round 2, you'll win a spot in the weekly Main Event Race Finals Freeroll, where you can compete for the free seat at the Main Event.

Or you can earn at least 3,000 Full Tilt points in a week. Do that and you can go straight to the Final’s freeroll.

The third way is to enter steps Sit n Go tournaments. Step 1 is only $3.30, and all you have to do is finish in the top 5 out of 10 to at least get your money back. But if you finish in the top 2, you go on to the next step. This goes on for a while, until you go all the way to Step 7, which offers a $12,000 package to the WSOP Main Event to the winner.

You can always buy in directly to Step 7 as well. But that's $2,100.

I prefer $3.30.

PokerStars is a little late to the party, but it's PokerStars, so it can do whatever it wants, in my mind. Anyway, despite this, the site just launched a series of WSOP satellites that can get you to the Main Event for as little as $1.10 or 100 FPPs.

Qualifying tournaments will run until the start of the Main Event in early July (yep, even far past the start of the WSOP), with a huge 200-seat guarantee Mega Satellite taking place on June 20.

But that's not all. PokerStars will sweeten the deal by giving those who qualify and show up an extra 50,000 VIP Player Points to your account, two invitations to an exclusive party and a PokerStars gift bag.

And that's not all!  (I gotta think of a new transition). PokerStars is also giving away a free package to any North American Poker Tour Main Event to every qualifier who cashes in the Main Event. AND finally if you win the Main Event, you'll be eligible for a bonus of $1 million in cash and tournament buy-ins.

With all that on the line, I don't think many PokerStars qualifiers are going to just take the money and skip the Main Event.

PokerStars is also offering a reload bonus to celebrate the continuation of its SCOOP series. But if you aren't a member of PokerStars yet, download it here on PokerWorks and get a cool bonus for doing so. PokerWorks, in fact, offers all the poker rooms listed here for free among dozens of others.

Hey, did you hear about Odonkor1? Yep, another Cyclone Swede is tearing up the Full Tilt nosebleed games. This guy or gal won $850,000 in 72 hours beginning April 17, according to PokerNews.com.

We're guessing he or she won't need to take part in PartyPoker's Drive the Dream final in London. But the site is giving away five prize packages for an Oct. 2 live final that will give away a brand new Aston Martin DB9 Coupe. So even if Odonkor1 is winning enough to buy that car outright, you can work for a chance to win it.

Oh, the site's also giving away $14,000 WSOP packages for free. We TOLD you the sites are going nuts with this thing.

Ladbrokes Poker is giving you a chance to a WSOP event as well, only this one is to a $2,500 buy-in to Event #56, a long stay at the Wynn Hotel, travel expenses and a bonus $1,000 Last Longer Bet that will nab you a chance to win a seat to the Main Event.

All of you have to do is be the last one standing of the qualifiers through Ladbrokes, and if you are, you'll earn the seat to the WSOP and a chance at glory, money and maybe a little fame.

Stuff that, you know, will make you daydream.
