Online Poker Room Roundup: Make This The Summer To Remember

Ah, summer. The pools. The warm sun. The races (at least for me).

And the WORLD SERIES OF POKER!

Sorry, I'm a little excited about poker's biggest event of the year starting last week. Now before you slap your forehead, start kicking yourself, and make your own swimming pool with tears of regret for missing it, hey, you've still got time to get there.

That's right. Several online poker rooms are still running satellites to get you to the biggest event of the biggest event, the Main Event (as the title suggests), so let's get you started.

You can still play for a seat at the Main Event through Steps, FPP and Cash Sit n Go satellites on PokerStars, available in a wide range of buy-ins. You could win yourself a $10,000 buy-in to the Main Event, plus travel expenses, hotel accommodations (eight nights because we both know you aren't there to bust on Day One) and a shuttle bus. There's even extra goodies, including a party, a boatload of VIP Player Points and a buy-in to the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure or the North American Poker Tour.

PokerStars is also now giving players a chance to play with one of the stars of the WSOP, Daniel Negreanu, if you can afford it. After all, you see him about as often as anyone on the WSOP's TV coverage, and now you can play with him.

Um. Or at least railbird him any time you like. That's what I'll be doing! I can't blow my whole bankroll on one Big Blind, right? You can find games of $100/$200 with a $50 ante, or, if you like the smaller games, just $20/$40 with a $10 ante. These games are six-handed, so there should be lots of action, and you can find his tables listed with a DR symbol. The games are No-Limit Holdem but more games will be added in the future.

As you probably guessed, Full Tilt's got a way to get you to the WSOP as well. How does $1 grab you? That's right. One buck. You can't even buy a candy bar for that anymore. (I'm serious. A Snickers in our vending machine at work is $1.25).

These tournaments take place every Sunday through June 27th, and at least five $12,000 Main Event prize packages will be awarded per tournament. You can buy in directly, or if you were hungry and had to have that candy bar (I won't ask how you got the extra .25 cents), you can satellite your way in for 30 Full Tilt Points.

If you are more than a casual player, but not a pro, you can qualify for Full Tilt's Mid-Year Iron Man Challenge Bonus. If you qualify for any of the four Iron Man status levels, you get a bonus at the beginning of July.

Achieve a bronze, and you'll get $25 for every month this year you've reached that level. Work your way up to Iron (so maybe it's OK if you are a pro), and you'll get $100 for every month.

If you don't like playing for hours just to fall short of winning a WSOP seat, head over to Ultimate Bet, where this Sunday, June 6, you can play in a tournament that's offering up at least 25 Main Event packages.

This $500 + $30 event guarantees that at least 25 players will earn a $12,000 package for this year's Main Event. Qualifier satellite buy-ins start at $10 + $1, but you'd better act now.

And Ultimate Bet is also paying players who actually decide to show up with a progressive prize pool, depending on just how many show up. You'll get at least $3,750 in cash just for showing up, if at least 51 others decide to join you. If you cash, you'll get even more money.

Hey, if you miss out on all those qualifying events, you'll even have a chance Sunday, as there's a $60 + $6 feeder that offers 50 seats to the Super Satellite. And you can even qualify to get into that satellite.

Whew. That's enough talk about satellites for the moment. Let's just offer you a couple freerolls for some free cash, shall we? You don't even have to travel to Vegas to earn it.

PokerWorks has a ton of freerolls to offer, actually, including freerolls that will give away two seats to the Main Event of the World Series of Poker on June 5 and 6. There's also freerolls that will lead to WSOP seats as well on PartyPoker, and there's a $10,000 freeroll on Winner Poker on June 6. Finally, Carbon Poker is offering a ton of freerolls if you sign up through PokerWorks, including a $1,000 freeroll, a $500 freeroll for new players and $50 freerolls that take place every four hours.

PokerWorks, in fact, offers you bonuses and cool stuff for signing up with just about any online poker site out there, and there's plenty to choose from.

OK, so just one more opportunity to get to the World Series of Poker, and this one's a doozy, because it's not just for a seat for this year, it's for a lifetime.

PartyPoker's also got a cool promotion for the rest of you (maybe even us U.S. players; we can always hope right?). It's another World Series of Poker promotion, but again, this one's different, as you're not just playing for a seat to the 2010 Main Event. You're playing for life.

Yep. Life. Or up to 20 years. Whichever comes first.

After 2010, PartyPoker pays for your $10,000 buy-in to the Main Event for that time period. And there's two of these unique packages available, one through a leaderboard, where you can earn the most points by playing cash games, and the other through a tournament, where you can get started for free! The Grand Final is June 20, where first prize takes the Life prize (and three other spots get a spot in the 2010 Main Event, which ain't too bad either).

We've given you the tools to make this the summer of your dreams. Now get out there and grab it.
