Get Ready for Bodog’s Mini Poker Series

Excitement is building at Bodog Poker as the World Series of Poker Main Event gets ever closer. When the action begins on July 5, thousands of players from all over the world will gather around the Rio tables to compete for the championship and a multi-million dollar payday. If you missed out on your chance to qualify, don’t let it get you down. You can get it in on a Poker Series with the same intense action but at a fraction of the cost—the 2010 Bodog Mini Poker Series.

That’s right; Bodog’s Mini Poker Series is coming and this is how it works. The qualifying series is comprised of 13 $10+$1 tournaments from Monday, July 5 to Saturday, July 17, each with a guaranteed prize pool ranging from $2,000 to $5,000. The top 30% of finishers in each qualifying event will earn points based on their finish. These points will be used to rank players and will ultimately determine who will move on to the Semifinal and Final. In addition, first place finishers in qualifying events receive automatic entry to the Final.

The Mini Series Semifinal will take place on Tuesday, July 20 at 8:35 PM ET. There is no buy-in charge for participation in this round. To be invited, players must finish 11th to 50th on the Tournament Leader Board or play in at least 7 qualifying events. The top 18 finishers will win the right to play in the Bodog Mini Poker Series Final on Thursday, July 22 at 8:35 PM ET.

In order to compete in the Mini Series Final Tournament, players must either finish top 10 on the Tournament Leader Board, play in ALL 13 qualifying events, finish in the top 18 in the Mini Series Semifinal, or place first in a qualifying event.

What’s at stake, you ask. The winner of the Final will walk away with one of the FIRST seats to the 2011 World Series of Poker Main Event and one of the first Team Bodog 2011 memberships—a prize package worth $12,000! Second and third place finishers will receive a Bodog Poker Open V (BPO V) Prize Package, which includes buy-in to every event in the BPO V to be hosted in the fall of 2010. And players who finish in fourth to ninth place will pick up a $162 tournament ticket for entry to the Sunday $100,000 Guaranteed.

The Bodog Mini Poker Series Tournament Leader Board will be available throughout the course of the Series, allowing every player that has played in the qualifying events to keep track of their point totals. Points for the Leader Board are calculated after each event with a formula using the number of players entered in the tournament, the finish rank of the player for the tournament, and the buy-in of the tournament.

Don’t let the Bodog Mini Poker Series pass you by! Mark your calendar for July 5-17 to get in on the qualifying rounds. There are also satellites running daily during the entire series with buy-ins of only 100 Poker Points.  Registration for the Series begins on June 23 at 5:00 PM ET and ends on July 17 at 4:35 PM ET.
