The next Second Sunday online fundraiser at UB Poker is just around the corner! Plan now to be there when Team UB’s own Tiffany Michelle hosts the event which will benefit the Crystal King Benefit Foundation.

The charity poker action will get underway on July 11th at 14:45 ET featuring a very modest buy-in of just $10. And with a buy-in so low, everyone can afford to join UB and PokerPlayersUnite.org in their efforts to support Crystal King and her family as she journeys on her road to recovery. To make sure the event raises as much money as possible, every buy-in counts double because UB will match 100% of the total prize pool and the proceeds will be donated to the Crystal King Benefit Foundation. And to make it more profitable for the players, all participants will automatically become eligible for their shot at a share of another $2,150 in prizes!

All money raised will help Crystal King, a 23-year-old Rockford, Illinois resident and her three-year-old twins Camrea-Rose and Caden who were on the road just outside of Tallahassee, Florida on May 3rd, 2010 when tragedy struck. Their vehicle was involved in a serious crash with a semi-trailer in which Caden suffered severe head trauma that claimed his life on impact. Luckily Camrea-Rose escaped with her life suffering only light facial bruising and a minor nose fracture. Crystal, however, sustained serious injuries including broken ribs, a fractured pelvis, fractures to both femurs and her right knee and a collapsed lung.

Crystal remained unconscious for two weeks following extensive surgery and only began to slowly awaken after having undergone a tracheotomy. Since then, she has been progressing well, but has spent several weeks in a Tallahassee rehabilitation center and hopes to return home to Illinois sometime this month. Once she is home however, she will continue to need constant care and rehabilitation, as well as therapy and counseling.

The folks at UB have decided the Second Sunday July charity poker tournament will be dedicated to Crystal, to help her pay for her ongoing needs. But the Charity event is not without benefit to those online poker players who choose to participate; prizes up for grabs to the top ten finishers will include an entry to the UB Weekly $200,000 Guaranteed tournament and a wireless poker controller. And to make it even more exciting, there will be a bounty on the head of host Tiffany Michelle! The lucky tournament player who takes her out of the game will receive a $66 entry into the UB $7,000 Guaranteed tournament, to take place after the Charity Event at 21:30 ET.

UB players can register for the July Second Sunday Charity Event now by going to the UB Poker Room Lobby and locating the Second Sundays Charity tournament under the ‘Events’ tab.  If you can’t make the tournament, you can also make direct donations online at UB by using the Player-to-Player transfer and making payment to the account ‘CHARITIES.’ Show your charitable side and choose to make a difference through your tournament participation or through direct donation to this very worthy cause today!
