This year, the NAPT kicked off with the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure where 1,529 players battled it out for a share of the $14,831,300 prize pool. The big first place winner was Harrison Gimbel who walked away with a colossal $2,200,000 after besting the record-breaking field of 1,528 other players to become the inaugural NAPT Champion.
Then it was on to the Venetian in Las Vegas, where a total of 872 players competed for their share of the $4,017,740 prize pool. After some fierce play, it was 22-year-old Tom Marchese who reigned victorious and took home $827,648 for his efforts and Ashton Griffin won the winner-take-all $25,000 Bounty Event and netted a total of $560,000.
Next was a visit to the East coast, namely Connecticut, for a stop at the Mohegan Sun where 716 players fought for their cut of a $3,264,244 prize pool. In the end it was Vanessa Selbst who left the tables with the top prize of $750,000 for an impressive first place finish. In addition, Team PokerStars Pro Jason Mercier took down the $25,000 Bounty Shootout and pocketed a cool $475,000.
