Congratulations are in order for the seven Titan Poker Team players who were recently selected to represent Titan Poker at tournaments across the globe for the remainder of 2010!

Leading the second half of Team Titan is Sorel "Imper1um" Mizzi hailing from Toronto, Canada. This 24-year-old highly talented player brings with him both experience and success, with more than $2.5 million in winnings amassed in some of the world’s biggest tournaments as well as his impressive online play earnings. Sorel has won more than $1,000,000 in his online poker career as a veteran Titan Poker player and he now writes an exclusive blog for Titan Poker that keeps the Titan player community up to date on his playing activities as he travels the world to play the game of poker.

Among the global events Sorel will represent Titan Poker in once again is the Euro City Poker Tour in Barcelona, the Irish Open and a variety of other European Poker Tour (EPT) events. Part of his duties as the leader of Team Titan is to provide team members with training prior to major land based poker tournaments to make sure his teammates have the winning edge. Now that you know a little about their leader, let's meet the Titan Team members!

First up is Florian “GabyAngel” Desgouttes from Bordeaux, France. His accomplishments include; first place in the European Championship of Poker Tour Barcelona Side Event and first in the tour’s Salzburg Side Event. Florian is a former boxer who began playing online poker back in November of 2008 following an injury that left him unable to box. He began conservatively but soon built his meager bankroll into a one which provided him with a salary. His advice to other players is to “Analyze the way you play and then work hard to improve it as much as possible and then be patient, very patient.”

Marvin Rettenmaier of Stuttgart, Germany is proud to be a member of Team Titan. He is well-known as a tough and skillful player at the Titan Poker online tables and made his first live event appearance at the 2010 ECPT Barcelona, where he cashed in eighth place for €18,300. In April of this year, Marvin took first place in the PokerStars EPT Snowfest, where he walked away with $7,173 and at this year’s WSOP, he cashed for $3,701 and $2,801 in two Holdem events. Marvin has a Bachelor degree in Management and believes the key to success for players who want to move up to the Titan Team is straightforward and simple, “It is all about experience and the willingness to get better.”

Then there is former soccer player Sam "Tricky" Trickett of Nottingham, UK, who began playing poker in 2005 where he developed an obsession with both No Limit Holdem and Pot Limit Omaha. He headed to Vegas in June of 2008, to play in the WSOP and finished in 4th place in the $5,000 No Limit Holdem event for $245,000 and in 2010 had a 2nd place finish in the $5,000 No-Limit Hold’em event. Sam also gained the GUKPT title in Luton for the Main Event and walked away with a cash prize of $210,000. Sam’s advice for other poker players is, “Try to learn from other good players by asking for advice and their opinion on interesting hands. Watch lots of videos online and work hard on improving your game.”

Titan Team member Yann "Roof" Brosolo hails from Paris, France and has been a part of the online poker world for six years and was a regular player at the Aviation Club de France. When Brosolo won a prize package to the 2007 European Poker Tour (EPT) in an online poker tournament , he traveled to Dublin to try his hand in live events. This began his journey toward a trail of victories including a 2nd place finish at the Euro Finals of Poker in Paris in 2007, for which he won $22,315 and a 1st place finish in the same tournament in 2009 for which he pocketed $19,149. Brosolo’s largest cash to date was at the end of 2009 when he landed 13th place in the EPT Prague, where he walked away with $36,717.  His total career earnings of $158,608 are helping him pay for Business School and his advice to other poker players is to “Work hard and you get all that you want.”

The last new Team Titan member is Joël Benzinou, a 24-year-old fairly new poker player from Brussels, Belgium. Joël started playing poker just two and a half years ago in online FreeRoll tournaments. Putting together a lean $50 bankroll, he carefully played to build it up in a step by step process that led to good results. After some time, he decided to jump into some live poker play so he traveled to Vegas and won an impressive $19,300. Joël has since attained a 3rd place finish at the June 2009 Deep Stack Extravaganza III in Vegas and a 25th place finish at the World Poker Tour. His winnings now total $74,050 and were accumulated in just an eight-month period.  Joël’s advice to players who wish to make the Titan Team is, “find the poker game you are best at and to work hard and be patient.”
