PartyGaming and Bwin Merger

Sometimes the merger is big enough to catch the eye of a major mainstream news outlet like the BBC. After many months of rumors of a merger between online gaming giant PartyGaming and sports betting leader Bwin, the deal has been done. The unification of the companies indicates they will jointly move into other realms of the betting business, while PartyGaming still eyes its ultimate chance to return to the U.S. if the online gaming law passes.


Apthorp - New Horizon for Erik Seidel

An article in the New York Post about an exclusive apartment building called Apthorp on New York City’s Upper West Side featured a familiar name to the poker industry. As people began bidding for their chance at one of the refurbished condos, Erik Seidel’s name came into view. He won a six-way bidding war to grab a coveted three-bedroom home with views of the river, and he will close on the condo soon as others vie for the remaining space in the building.

Harrahs and Playdom Relaunch Online poker Game

Combine names like Facebook and World Series of Poker, and a successful way to play poker is born. Harrah’s recently entered into an agreement with Playdom, a social games company, to relaunch its online poker game with the WSOP logo attached. Many games will be available, such as full-table and short-handed poker played for virtual money and virtual WSOP bracelets. Players will also have the chance to enter sweepstakes for trips to Las Vegas and seats to WSOP events. An expansion to MySpace and other social networking sites will be added soon.

PokerStars Caribbean Adventure

The PokerStars Caribbean Adventure takes place in January of each year. Many players begin to think about winning a seat to the Main Event as the winter months approach, as visions of beaches and millions of dollars dance in their heads.
