World Poker Tour® Announces Open Casting For New On-Air RoleYou wouldn’t lay down that hand. You can’t believe that rank amateur or pompous pro made that call. Your family wants you to stop screaming at the TV. Heck, even your neighbors are begging for you to stop.

But hey, the World Poker Tour wants you to keep railing away.

There is one slot left on the WPT® on-air team and we’re looking at you to fill it. We’re searching everywhere for the most brutally honest poker analyst we can find for a new recurring TV segment called “The Raw Deal.”

Do you have what it takes to be the Joe Rogan of chips? The Simon Cowell of cards? The next Charles Barkley of—well, you get the idea. If you’re opinionated, fearless, watch and play hours of poker and find yourself offering brilliant insight from the comfort of your couch, it’s time for you to take a new seat – right next to WPT stars Mike Sexton, Vince Van Patten and Kimberly Lansing. Plus, get your chance to share the screen with the stunning WPT Royal Flush Girls.

The WPT is holding open auditions for the role. There are two ways to try out:

    * In Person: This is your best shot to really show us what you’ve got. Come to The Bicycle Casino in Los Angeles on August 19, 2010 from 11:00am to 8:00pm as we prepare for the WPT Legends of Poker tournament. Prove to us you know poker lingo and possess the ability to forcefully press your case through either righteous outrage, edgy charm or your own unique approach. You’ll have to show our producers your best stuff. Bring your “A” game because you’ve only got one chance to earn the new top line on your resume.* Then stay the week and play at The Bicycle Casino in one of the world’s most prestigious poker tournaments, the WPT Legends of Poker with some of poker’s biggest names. Main Event Day 1A & 1B are on August 20th and 21st with the final table on August 25th.

    * Online: Go to WPT’s “Raw Deal” Facebook Page (www.facebook.com/WorldPokerTour) and upload a 45-second video. Be sarcastic.  Be sardonic.  Be sartorial. Most of all – be memorable. Friends and fans will be able to vote on your submission. The top 10 vote-getters will bypass the open audition and casting agent and go straight to the shortlist for callbacks with World Poker Tour producers.

Submissions are open now and close on August 15th at 11:59 p.m. PT.

The best online entries will be pitted against the best in-person performances. When it is all over, someone will have a shiny new job offer.*
