Bodog Sponsors Poker Dome at 2010 Poker in the Park

In September, London will become the focus of the poker world when big tournaments like the WPT London, the EPO and the WSOPE roll into town. Thousands of poker fans will be on hand to join in the annual festivities, and their first stop is bound to be Leicester Square on September 2 and 3 for Poker in the Park 2010. Last year, more than 20,000 people flocked to the Mega Tent, known as a Poker Dome, for the event, which features free tournaments, live tutorials and more. This year promises to draw even more visitors, and to cope with the massive demand, Bodog is sponsoring a second Poker Dome—meaning double the space, double the tournaments and double the fun!

The Poker Domes are the social hub of the festival, where weary poker players can relax with a mocktail at the Mocktail Bar while checking out the latest online poker technology on plasma screens. Each Poker Dome will host 80-player Sit n Go freeroll tournaments hourly around the clock during the festival.

In addition, visitors can get a poker education from some of the world’s top players, with lectures, Q & A’s and autograph signings. Last year, two WSOP Main Event Champions, Jamie Gold and Peter Eastgate graced the event to share their poker wisdom. Amongst the rest of the speakers were a top line-up, including Neil Channing, Ian Frazer, Paul Jackson, Liv Boeree, Nik Persaud, John Tabatabai, Nick Wealthall, Michael Greco and Alex Rousso.

Another hugely popular marquee last year was a Heads-Up Tent, where people were able to battle their way to heads up glory on the latest electronic poker tables. After experiencing huge success, Knock-Out tournaments are planned for this year. Also returning this year will be the Tuition Tables, each run by a sponsored player, offering live hand tuition and unbeatable, intimate advice.

Last year’s visitors were also greeted by Neteller, London Poker Circuit,, Gamcare, Blackbelt Poker and London Chess & Bridge in the Poker Multi-tent, which offered a menagerie for both amateur and expert players. And Million Pound Man Derek Webb, inventor of the popular casino game Three Card Poker, unveiled his newest brainchild, “PTG Poker.”

With an additional Poker Dome, there will be even more great events at Poker in the Park 2010. Visitors can look forward to an appearance by five-time heavyweight champion-turned-poker-pro Evander Holyfield, as well as lectures from a huge line-up of pros. There will also be surprise celebrity appearances, special price deals on the latest poker books and merchandise, and so much more. Magnus Olby, Marketing Manager for Bodog Europe, says they will be adding a few touches too, “so watch out for some hot girls and great freebies.”

Forget the casinos—Poker in the Park at Leicester Square is where it’s at this summer. Whether you’re a fan of Texas Holdem, a bluffing pro or a real card shark, there will be something for you to sink your teeth into. And newcomers to the game can join in the fun too. Tutoring sessions and advice from those in the know will ensure that everyone gets a fair chance at winning a game by playing their cards right.

Admission to Poker in the Park is free, so all you need to do is turn up! But if you can’t make it London for the festivities, you can still get in on the action and great freerolls, free cash games, and more at Bodog’s online poker room. And when you download Bodog Poker and use bonus code POKERWORKS, you will receive 110% up to $500 Bodog poker bonus!
