Time is flying by as the 17th Full Tilt Online Poker Series speeds through its twelve days of poker action. FTOPS XVII only began on August 4, but it is quickly zooming past the halfway mark of its 34-tournament run. Nolez7 won almost $51K for Event 2, BacoPride almost $42K for Event 4, and FlopeDeNuts more than $131K for Event 5. A good number of the series winners have not claimed such a score in the past, and some of them studied the game, put in their hours of practice, and won potentially life-changing money for their work. That is the inspiration that many can take away from FTOPS.

When the series began less than a week ago, the cumulative guarantee for FTOPS was set at $19 million, but with half of the tournaments already in the books, the figures show that all but one of the first 17 events went over their individual guarantees because of stellar attendance figures. Those first 17 events awarded $9,225,120 in prize money, and it looks as if FTOPS XVII will easily end up awarding more than $20 million when it’s complete.
