Full Tilt Fever: MiniFTOPS XVII Ends - The Dean221 as Main Event Champ

As of the late night hours of Sunday, September 19, the 17th edition of MiniFTOPS is officially a wrap. And the miniature version of the Full Tilt Online Poker Series, with buy-ins at only 1/10th of the amounts of a regular FTOPS, paid out more than $6 million in prize money over the course of the 34 tournaments, with the Main Event alone awarding more than $1 million to the top 1,890 players in the event. The ultimate winner of the Main Event was The Dean221, who defeated a field of 15,527 players and walked away with $152,086.69 and the title of MiniFTOPS champion.

Many players in MiniFTOPS entered the tournaments for a fraction of the already low buy-ins, as satellites offered opportunities to win seats for as little as $.50 or 50 Frequent Player Points. For those who won tournaments after winning their seats on the cheap, their bankrolls are likely changed forever, giving them more opportunities to play bigger tournaments going forward…or even simply cash out some of the funds to take care of life expenses. Each situation was likely different, as most of the winners of MiniFTOPS were not well-known or very experienced pro players.

Those who missed out on the most recent running of MiniFTOPS may feel that their chance passed them by, but that simply isn’t true! FTOPS and its miniature companion run several times each year, and though the next edition hasn’t been announced, a series usually takes place in November. That gives new players plenty of time to sign up for an account and get in some practice before the satellites for FTOPS XVIII begin.

The best thing about Full Tilt Poker is that it is built for players of all bankrolls and experience. New players are especially welcome on the site, and many tools are available for them to use to improve their games. From the most basic information contained in the poker glossary and hand rankings section to the Pro Chat section that gives opportunities to participate in live chats with some of the Full Tilt pro players, as well as the free Full Tilt Poker Academy. The latter is an interactive online poker training program that doesn’t cost anything for Full Tilt players but does focus on a plethora of strategies and analyses that help players at all levels.

With MiniFTOPS wrapped up, this is the perfect time for new players to log on to Full Tilt and get acquainted with the site. Dedicating the hours to learning, developing strategies, and finding one’s strengths are best done when maximum time is available. And when the next running of FTOPS is announced, those players will be prime candidates for the satellites to win seats into some of those events.

Download Full Tilt Poker now, use the bonus code “POKERWORKS” to qualify for a 100% bonus on that first deposit, and get started. By the time the next FTOPS rolls around in the fall months, you could be ready to make your mark on the online poker industry and make your poker dreams come true!
