PokerStars Deals Out $56,140 to ‘tbvle’ for 50 Billionth Hand

The biggest online poker site in the world, PokerStars, recently celebrated reaching a milestone with several huge promotions. The excitement went on for several days, with hundreds of thousands of dollars awarded all leading up to the grand finale – the Mega Milestone Hand celebrating the site dealing out 50 Billion hands.

PokerStars pulled out all the stops for this celebration by offering VIP players $50 in free cash, and three special $50K depositor FreeRolls. But it is the huge cash giveaways in certain pre-defined milestone hands where players could really score big that had players flocking to the tables. Starting with hand 49,700,000,000 and ending with hand 50,000,000,000, cash prizes were awarded to the players who were lucky enough to be in every millionth hand for a total of 300 milestone hands. Players who were dealt in the hand received $50 for each VPP they earned during the previous 50 hands at that table plus another $50 just for being in their seat. Plus players who won the pot got their prize doubled, which proved to be a big payday for players like ‘Pdogedog’ who won a total of AU $2,970.00 in Milestone Hand #49985000000 while playing heads up against ‘ hossyboybabe’ who took down US $1,485. But it was all small change compared to the minimum $50,000 guaranteed the winner of the 50 Billionth Hand would receive for being in the lucky seat at the right time.

It all came to a head when the 50 Billion Milestone Hand was dealt the morning of September 22nd, 2010 at a Micro-Stakes $0.02-$0.05 Limit 6-handed No Limit Hold’em table. The action was fierce as every player went all-in to maximize the amount of VPPs they earned in the hand, because they knew they would be paid $500 for every VPP earned in their previous 50 hands. When the smoke cleared, it was the Q-Q that “tbvle” from Germany held that won the Mega Milestone award. Not only did playing a nickel blind game pay off to the tune of $56,140 for ‘tbvle,’ but he also scored a $5,200 WCOOP Main Event seat ticket where if his luck holds, could net him thousands of dollars more. The six players at the table shared a total of $71,410 and $31,200 worth of WCOOP tickets for a total payout of $102,600 as follows:

•    tbvle DE $56,140.00
