Straight A’s Charity Texas Holdem Tournament

The International Baccalaureate program at Agoura High School in Southern California would love your support.  Poker players love to play poker for a worthy cause and this one will help the Agoura High School students with fundraising.  The teachers have spent six years trying to bring the International Baccalaureate program to Agoura High School but, unfortunately, the parents have to do the fundraising to support it since the school district doesn’t fully fund it.  That where your big, poker playing heart enters the picture.

Now you may be asking, “What is the International Baccalaureate program?”  Let en.wikipedia do the talking:

The International Baccalaureate (IB), formerly the International Baccalaureate Organisation (IBO), is an international educational foundation headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland. Founded in 1968 in Geneva, IB offers three educational programmes for children ages 3–19. The organization's name and logo were changed in 2007 to reflect a new image and for legal reorganization. Consequently, "IB" can refer to the organization itself, any of the three programmes or the diploma or certificates awarded at the end of the diploma programme.

Now that you know what it is and what the Straight A's Charity Tournament is for, you need to know the doors open at 11:00 a.m. and a winner should be determined by 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 9, 2011.  There will be free poker lessons beginning at 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. and expect some big name players to rub elbows with you too - they've been invited. The Charity Tournament is held at the Commerce Casino in Los Angeles.  Every registrant receives a free buffet lunch but remember, playing hungry increases your appetite for chips and the top 9 players will win over $17,500 in cash and prizes – and that amount is growing as this is being read by you.  The grand prize winner will receive a seat in the 2011 WPT Celebrity Invitational Tournament.

This great fundraising charity poker tournament is limited to 250 players and you can preregister now by visiting this link.  And you have the option of an Early Bird Bonus when you register online.
