Supposed Investor Conman Fails on Poker Plea Agreement
Samuel McMaster Jr. struck a plea agreement to repay $444,000 life savings he conned from 20 elderly people with his claim of being an investor when he appeared before New Mexico District Court Judge Ross Sanchez in August. McMaster was given the opportunity to repay his victims with his poker winnings during a six months grace period at $7,500 a month or bite the bullet and face up to 12 years in jail. WOOPS! His win to date is $1,461 from a poker tournament in Vegas.

Sponsored by Senator Raymond J Lesniak, the bill S-490 heads to the Assembly before facing a full vote.
