SuperStar ShowDown Challenge Isildur1 Heads-Up at PokerStars

The really big news is that Isildur1 is going to step out and face the world as a Team PokerStars Pro.  After months of conjecture and everyone trying to put a face to a name - check Tony G's blog - Isildur1's real identity will be revealed soon.

Isildur1 said: “I chose to join PokerStars because it's the biggest site and it will be an exciting challenge. It means a great deal to be playing in a team alongside players such as Daniel Negreanu, Dario Minieri and Johnny Lodden. My goals now are to improve my live game for some upcoming events, continue to focus on heads-up no-limit Hold’em, but also try to develop my pot-limit Omaha game.”

The SuperStar Showdown format is a bid to prove that Isildur1 is the best heads-up cash game player in the world.  You too can throw out the high stakes gauntlet and challenge Isildur1 in the SuperStar Showdown.  The first match (railbird alert) will be held at 6:00pm ET on December 19 with an opponent to be named in the coming days.  The SuperStar Showdown is a specially designed format that consists of a single session of 2,500 hands with stakes of $50/$100 and higher.  To put your chips into the danger zone with Isildur1 battling it out with you, send an email to and issue your challenge. Don't send an email unless you are a serious contender.

The SuperStar Showdown is a match that is played across four tables of Pot Limit Omaha and No Limit Holdem and the winner is determined by showing a profit after 2,500 hands or winning all of their opponent's match bankroll. The matches can be found in the PokerStars cash game lobby - 'Holdem' - 'No Limit/Pot Limit' - 'Showdown' tables.

Don't despair if your bankroll isn't brimming over with chips that scream "I can beat Isildur.  No Really, I can, I can, I can!" because you can also take a shot at beating him in a special 1/10th sized version of the SuperStar Showdown - with the opportunity to win big bucks - as follows:
