Become the Next Tourney King at SportsBook Poker

SportsBook Poker has embarked on a quest. They aren’t seeking a secret to eternal life, a lost homeland, or the Holy Grail. Neither are they searching for the next ‘Star’ or ‘American Idol.’ They are hunting for two new Tourney Kings and they plan to look high and low in locations around the world to find them!

To show you just how serious they are about their quest, SportsBook Poker is putting up over $20,000 in cash and prizes, along with a new accolade that the KING can proudly display at the tables. To be in the running for Tourney King, simply play in as many multi-table tournaments (MTTs) as you can. For every tournament you play you’re eligible to win valuable leaderboard points. Note: any points earned on freerolls and Sit n Go’s will NOT count towards prize requirements for the ‘Tourney King.’

To satisfy all levels of royalty, there will be two leaderboards: a high limit and a low limit. MTT’s with buy-ins of $20 or more will count on the High Limit Leaderboard, and MTT’s with buy-ins up to $20 will count on the Low Limit Leaderboard. Players are allowed to participate in both levels.

A special formula will be used to calculate leaderboard points:

1.    Calculate the average buy-in cost for tournament. Buy-in for R/A tournaments = prizepool / (Entrants + Rebuys + Add-ons)
2.    Multiply by the total number of entrants in the tournament
3.    Divide buy-ins x entrants by your final placement in the tournament
4.    Make it to the final table and you will receive a bonus ranging from 1.5 to 1.3 times your point totals

Only your top 25 results for the month will count towards your leaderboard points. If you finish in the Top 250 on either leaderboard, you’ll move on to the final tournament where you could win your share of over $20,000 along with the bragging rights that come along with being crowned the KING. To view both leaderboards and your current status, click on the ‘Player Admin’ button in the poker lobby and select ‘Tourney King.’

Both the High Limit and Low Limit finals are set to take place on the second Sunday of the following month. You will be assigned a unique chip stack to begin the finals based on how many points you have accumulated. High Limit Leaderboard payouts range from $3,000 for first place to $450 for fifth place. Players finishing 6-15 will receive $100 cash plus a $50K Guaranteed Seat valued at $109. Those finishing 16-30 will win a $50K Guaranteed Seat plus a $60 satellite entry. A $50K Guaranteed Seat will go to players finishing in 31-39 place and those in the 40-50 spots will receive a $60 satellite entry.

Low Limit Leaderboard payouts range from $1,500 cash for first place to $225 for fifth place. A 50K Guaranteed Seat plus a $60 satellite entry will be awarded to players finishing in 6-15 place, a 50K Guaranteed Seat for those in 16-30 place, a $60 satellite entry for the 31-39 spots and an $11 satellite entry for 40-50 place finishers.

But beware, cheating or collusion will not be tolerated. SportsBook Poker will be checking all game histories and if it looks like something fishy is going on against the spirit of the competition (like playing a friend over and over again), you will become ineligible for the prize and may have your account closed!

If you’ve been participating in the SportsBook Poker ‘Tourney King’ promotion, keep it up. If you haven’t, it’s time to start. Rack up those leaderboard points and get ready to play in January, 2011.
