New Senior Championship at LA Poker Classic

If life begins at 40, what happens at 50?  Poker, poker, poker! The LA Poker classic at the Commerce in Los Angeles hosts 53 events in 44 days beginning on January 19th.  It's a massive schedule with buy-ins structured for all bankrolls and gives many players an opportunity to snowball a small bankroll into life changing money.  And best of all the LA Poker Classic schedule is now structured to focus on the value of kids that are 50 and up with a $545 LA Poker Classic No Limit Hold'em Senior Championship.

Many mature poker players feel quite comfortable tackling a field of Internet whiz kids in a big field poker competition but others do not.  The Senior Championship allows players with life experience and maturity to settle in and begin the serious business of battling it out for bragging rights, cash, and the added $10,000 seat to the Main Event of the LA Poker Classic. More and more Seniors are coming out to compete in tournament poker as shown by the turnout at the 2010 Seniors Event at the WSOP where more than 3,000 players paid the entry fee to join the action.

"By giving our more mature players an opportunity to compete against others more in keeping with their own mindset, playing style, speed and experience, we create an environment that is exclusive and yet more relaxing," said Tournament Director Matt Savage. "Coupled with the fact that the exclusivity makes for a smaller field, it increases the odds of success for these senior players, who often feel shut out of prize pools. One player will have bragging rights as the LA Poker Classic Senior Champion for the next year, and he'll have a really nice payday."

Commerce Casino is the world's largest poker room and the Senior Championship is only one of the events during the LA Poker Classic tournament.  Buy-ins start at $125 and continue on up to a hair raising $25,100 High Roller event, with the Poker classic guaranteeing $2 Million over all, players will find 'everything poker' at the Classic. The first event to kick off the action is a four-day $335 buy-in, $1 Million Guaranteed No Limit Holdem tournament that gives players that bust out the opportunity re-enter on Day 1B/1C/1D.

Be sure to check the full event schedule and overview for Commerce Casino's LA Poker Classic on their website or by calling (323) 721-2100, and set aside your daily winter blues by shaking up the action during the LA Poker Classic.
