The Annual World Series of Poker begins its 2011 campaign on Tuesday, May 31st, 2011 (the day after Memorial Day) and will run every day until Tuesday, July 19, 2011, 50 straight days of jamming, poker action. Anyone that is 21 years of age or older will be eligible to play in this set of poker tournaments. Continuing on with its normal venue since 2005, the WSOP will be held in the Convention Center of the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The WSOP Main Event begins on Thursday, July 7th, 2011, and features - as in years past - four starting days which are as follows: July 7th, July 8th, July 9th, and July 10th. The Main Event will also be the final tournament of the annual WSOP as is now customary. The conclusion of the final table of nine players is expected to be reached on Tuesday, July 19th.
A definitive change in 2011 for all bracelet events is 'hard stop times.' Each day will come to an end when 10 levels have been completed. The remaining players will have their chips bagged and tagged and return the next day to continue tournament play regardless of how many players remain in a tournament. 2011 will find 'hard stop times' enforced after 10 levels of play.
