The New Fifty50 Sit n Go Tournaments Kick-Off at PokerStars

Sit n Gos are one of the most popular tournament formats available at PokerStars. The main reason is they can be fast, which is perfect for poker players who don’t have hours to invest playing in a multi-table tournament. But what exactly is a Sit n Go?

A Sit n Go (Sit & Go, S&G or SNG) is a tournament that does not have a set start time; it simply begins when all the seats are filled. There are a vast array of Sit n Gos, ranging in size from heads-up, all the way up to 990 players. When you are ready to jump in one, Sit n Gos can be found in both satellite and cash tournament form in the PokerStars Lobby under the ‘Sit & Go’ tab. And now there is a brand new Sit n Go for you to look for and try out – the Fifty50!

The new ‘Fifty50’ is a type of one-table, 10 player Sit n Go where the tournament ends when half of the entrants have been eliminated.  Here is how it works: in a 10-player Fifty50 tournament with a $10+$1 buy-in there is a $100 prize pool and five players will be paid. Half of the prize pool will be handed out equally among the five winners which in this case would be $10 each. The other half of the prize pool ($50) will be awarded to those same five players based on their chip count percentages. The only downside is that players finishing 6th through10th win nothing.

According to PokerStars; The Fifty50 tournament lobby displays the approximate amount per 100 chips to be paid out when the tournament ends. The value displayed in the Fifty50 tournament lobby is rounded down to the nearest cent, but payouts are calculated so that the entire prize pool is paid out. Note that the final payouts may experience small rounding differences in order to ensure that the total payouts equal the prize pool. These new Fifty50 Sit n Gos are sure to be a big hit but players need to remember that because of their unique payout structure, the Fifty50 tournaments are not eligible for any Tournament Leader Board points or eligible for the Battle of the Planets competition.

When you are ready to give the new Fifty50 No Limit Holdem tournaments a go you can find them under the ‘Sit & Go’ and ‘1-Table’ tabs in the PokerStars lobby. And no matter what your poker budget is, there is a buy-in to suit everyone including: $1.11, $5.30, $10.60, $20.96, $21.20, $31.44, $31.80, $52.40, $53 and $104.32.
