WPT Premiers on FSN February 13th

Share this
Get ready for a fresh, new, yet appealing to died-in-the-wool true blue WPT fans, look coming in HOT from FSN on Sunday nights at 8:00 PM and 11:00 PM local for your viewing pleasure.  The World Poker Tour started the poker revolution - throw in Chris Moneymaker and a few other variables - and the show just keeps getting better.  You'll find high stakes poker at its best just waiting for you to tune in and kick back to watch millions being made and new poker stars being born.

The new approach begins with the World Poker Tour bringing viewers coverage of every tournament from the first hand to the last instead of final table play only.  Poker is all about all the hands that are dealt all the way to a championship finale and that's what you're going to find as you view how the biggest names in poker bust out and the sickest plays impact those that play on, and you will see how the final tablists survive throughout the multi-day gauntlet to reach the final six and come back to fight for the ultimate conquest - FIRST PLACE!

Look for new talent with Kimberly Lansing filling the newly created anchor position where she handles interviews, news, and leads the show through its paces as she throws to the legendary announcing team Mike Sexton and Vince Van Patten to call the action plays - think of her as the poker world's answer to Bob Costas. And the 'Raw Deal" may find you tearing up your own deck of cards as Tony Dunst brings on the candor and criticism with his frank, irreverent, and creative look at poker.

Another 'new' following the year's facelift for the WPT is easily noticed:
    * 4-color deck. Now each suit is more easily identifiable.
    * New theme music, composed by NFL Films’ Emmy-Award winning Tom Hedden.
    * New statistics.

And the newly introduced multicultural, beautiful Royal Flush Girls are back to serve as brand ambassadors for Season IX.  At every tournament four of the six girls will be present from the first second of the broadcast through the championship money presentation...eye candy!

Each tournament stop will be telecast over two episodes.  The first two installments on Sunday, February 13th, and Sunday, February 20th, will cover the always popular, action packed Bellagio Cup VI, from Bellagio Resort Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, NV.

“As Season IX rolls out, fans will find all the great poker action they’ve come to expect with a new, faster-paced, edgier tone,” said Steve Heller, CEO of World Poker Tour. “We are introducing new elements, graphics and talent throughout the season.  Each week viewers are guaranteed to see something unexpected and uniquely WPT.”

“We’re very excited about the new season of the World Poker Tour. WPT has really amped up everything about the production and it shows in the product. Sunday nights are again destination viewing for poker fans,” said David Sussin, FSN Vice President of Programming.

Did you know you can win a seat to the WPT Celebrity Invitational in Los Angeles in live action?

There are numerous opportunities to win a WPT main event package at Party Poker, Full Tilt Poker, and UB Poker.  Get in the mix, perhaps you will watch you on FSN as it brings the WPT to your home on an upcoming segment.
