Biggest Ever Bad Beat Jackpot at CEREUS NetWork Won at UB Poker

UB Poker Player ODESSA99 took down an amazing $340,875.15 when he went to war with pocket queens against FARFLUNG's pocket kings.  Both players made quads and ODESSA99 may have had to call a medic when he realized he won the Bad Beat Jackpot that has been building at the CEREUS Network Poker Rooms UB Poker and Absolute Poker.

As jackpots grow, more and more players take any available seat and grind, hoping to be in the same limit and type of game that the jackpot hits at - if they can't be the winner or at the winner's table. The payouts are set to give the Bad Beat victim 50% of the jackpot, 25% to the winner of the hand and $1,000 goes to all the players at the table where the jackpot is hit - in this case there were nine players and seven of them got $1,150.42 - and to keep the action rolling 25% seeds the next jackpot that starts immediately - 10% goes to UB Poker and the rest is divided up among all the players that were dealt a hand in the same limit and game type - in this case they got $150.42. We definitely believe that ODESSA99 and FARFLUNG were by far the happiest of all of the thousands of players that were seated at the time.

The Bad Beat Jackpot was a colossal $1,048,383.80
and went off on Monday, February 28th, at 22:51 EST and full-time poker player ODESSA99 had this to say, “I actually dreamt a few days before that I lost with queens, so it really is a dream come true! I just want to thank UB. Without this site and its Bad Beat Jackpot, I would not have had this opportunity, and I will be using my money wisely to help my family out, save for my young son’s College education, and put him through private school.”

The Bad Beat Jackpot hand went down like this: There were nine players at the table where the Big Blind Jackpot eventually hit. ODESSA99 posted the small blind, with ROOSTER XXX on the big blind. FARFLUNG called, and six others folded. ODESSA99 raised $0.75 to $1, with ROOSTER XXX and FARFLUNG calling. The Flop showed {K-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}, ODESSA99 bet $0.50, ROOSTER XXX folded, FARFLUNG raised, ODESSA99 re-raised and FARFLUNG called.

With just the two of them left in the hand, the Turn delivered the {Q-Diamonds}, ODESSA99 checked, FARFLUNG bet, ODESSA99 raised, FARFLUNG called. The {K-Spades} completed the board, with ODESSA99 and FARFLUNG boosting it up in a final round of betting, until the showdown revealed FARFLUNG holding {K-Hearts}{K-Clubs} for Four of a kind.

ODESSA99’s {Q-Spades}{Q-Clubs} was probably the biggest hand he's ever seen even though it was a loser. The hand played out in Texas Holdem at a $0.50/$1 table. FARFLUNG also picked up an impressive sum of $170,813.62 for his winning hand and unless he plays big land based poker tournaments, he will probably never win a pot that big with a pair of Kings again in his poker career.

Big Bad Beat Jackpots aren't uncommon at UB Poker and Absolute Poker (CEREUS Network) and to date, 14 players have won a Bad Beat Jackpot, and ODESSA99’s win lifts this year's BBJ prize money to just shy of $2 Million ($1,998,389.57) handed out across the CEREUS Poker Network to 2,492 players. Since the launch of the Bad Beat Jackpot at Absolute Poker and UB, thousands of players have shared in a staggering total of $61,774,438.56 in jackpot cash.

The newly seeded jackpot stood at $299,732.95 at 16:16 EST today.
