Protos Marketing and PocketFives.com have mutually agreed to end their relationship after four years of collaborating on one of the top online poker forums in the online poker community. Protos Marketing is also the parent company of other online sites like TheNuts.com and PokerSource.com and the separation should prove that both will thrive in the poker industry going forward - each organization expects there will be no interruptions in operations.
Adam Small, the co-founder of PocketFives.com and CEO of Protos Marketing, will continue to play a role in both companies. "I came to Protos Marketing as a result of this partnership, and I have nothing but great things to say about the professionalism the company has shown toward PocketFives.com throughout the relationship.”
“As CEO of Protos Marketing and a current partner in the PocketFives.com business, I will continue to be involved on both sides, making sure that each of these two organizations is able to grow and prosper," Small added.
Mike Jackness, Protos Marketing Chairman of the Board, said, “I’ve had nothing but positive experiences with PocketFives.com and hope the best for them,” as he wished them well in future endeavors.
PokerSoftware.com, PokerNewsDaily.com, and Pokerbonuses.com are other sites in Protos Marketing online information poker site's portfolio.
The brainchild of Small, Riley Bryant, and Cal Spears, PocketFives.com was founded in January 2005. Ranking online poker players had not been successfully publicized at that point and the trio grew interest in the forum by focusing on that aspect. Even the name PocketFives.com has added an edge in the online poker world - pocket fives is a culturally rich hand.
PocketFives.com went on to add other features like a diverse lineup of poker rakeback, VIP offers, and a full poker training suite; along with the user-friendly forum PokerFives.com has also become a poker news source. With over 100,000 members, the online poker rankings can be sorted by country, state, province, and even city. Members can create their own blogs and custom rankings and post in forums that cover topics like poker discussion, poker sites, and high stakes multi-table tournaments.
“The guys at Protos Marketing did a wonderful job building PocketFives.com over the past few years, but I have to admit I've missed being involved in the day to day operations,” Spears commented. “I'm happy to be back in that role now. Helping develop PocketFives.com from a concept to one of the largest online poker communities provided some of my fondest memories. I’m looking forward to continuing to grow our community and brand worldwide.”
