Hawaii's Fight over Legalizing Gambling

The measures up for consideration went through legalizing shipboard gaming, a standalone casino, to a high-stakes poker tournament, and Rep. Angus McKelvey foresees that and more to resurface next session even though 16 gambling bills were introduced and argued over this session - they all died. "As long as the economy remains bad we will see possibly next year even more gambling bills," said Violet Horvath of the Hawaii Coalition Against Legalized Gambling.

Black Friday - is the Timing Suspicious?

Professor I. Nelson Rose - Gambling and the Law - addresses the timing of the indictments by the DOJ and the perspective contracts that were being arranged between major online poker sites and casinos in Nevada along with the legality of the Wire Act as it pertains to bets on sports events, not online poker.
