55 WSOP Bracelet Events to be Streamed Live

Good news for Poker fans! Even if you can’t make it to Vegas this year to watch the 42nd Annual World Series Of Poker, you can still catch all the action of 55 gold bracelet events live (on a five-minute delay) via the Internet!

Last week it was announced that ESPN was upping their WSOP coverage by more than double and now that Jack Link’s Beef Jerky will be the Presenting Sponsor, viewers the world over can catch all of the exciting final table action of 55 bracelet events via the internet. This will mark the first time in history that all 58 gold bracelet events will have some form of video coverage. ESPN3 will be streaming the $25K Heads Up, $50K Poker Players Championship and the Main Event No Limit Holdem Championship with the other 55 events being live streamed exclusively on the website.

The streaming view of the action will be provided by two-camera coverage which will show a wide overhead shot of the entire table and its participants along with a flop camera for visual sightlines. While the tournament action is taking place, audio will be provided for the Final Table by the event’s tournament announcer, who will describe the betting action as it occurs so viewers won’t miss a moment of WSOP championship excitement. Although the live streaming coverage will not show any hole cards and will be delayed five minutes per gaming regulations,
the live stream will offer those poker fans who can’t watch the tournaments in person the opportunity to view 55 bracelet events with a view similar to those spectators at the Rio.

Starting on June 1st, there will be at least one stream a day except the times when no final tables are scheduled which will be June 2nd, June 7th and July 4th through 6th.  The live streams will normally start between 2:30 and 3:00 PM Pacific time and last until the event concludes with no video being shown during the standard breaks in action. While making the announcement of the new live streaming coverage, the WSOP released the following statement:

“We are proud to provide video of the culminating action to a worldwide audience in real time,” said WSOP Executive Director Ty Stewart. “This online initiative will complement our spectacular television package on ESPN and deliver even more of this year’s WSOP to fans who want the most immediate coverage possible.”

In other news, another big WSOP sponsorship was revealed on the heels of the live stream announcement, one which will have players playing with happy feet even in the midst of a bad beat.

Dearfoams has come onboard as the Official Footwear Sponsor of the WSOP, which means their logo, signage and thousands of pairs of cozy slippers will appear at the Rio throughout the tournament series. President of Dearfoams Slippers, Nancy Coons, wants to make sure attendees are as comfortable as possible, so she has arranged for all WSOP Main Event participants to receive complimentary slippers. Ladies World Championship participants, WSOP dealers, and ESPN’s camera crew will also be invited to join in and feel more relaxed during the WSOP series in comfortable Dearfoams slippers.

“Our champion last year won nearly $9 million while wearing flip flops, so we know poker players covet comfort in their pursuit of glory,” said WSOP Vice President Ty Stewart. “But let’s face it, flip flops aren’t so comfortable. So we have partnered with Dearfoams – who makes the world’s most comfortable slippers – so players can now feel truly comfy as they pursue their dreams of winning the WSOP and going on to live a life of leisure where it will be appropriate to wear Dearfoam slippers 24/7.”

To celebrate their new sponsorship deal, Dearfoams will be giving away the opportunity for one lucky consumer to win a $10,000 seat to the 2010 WSOP Main Event. And of course Dearforms wants their lucky winner to be comfortable while vying for the World title and gold bracelet: “We are very excited to partner with the WSOP,” says Mark Zobel, V.P. of Marketing for the R.G. Barry Corporation, the parent company of Dearfoams. “Dearfoams will enable players at the WSOP Main Event to ‘make themselves comfortable’ at the table, allowing them to worry about their hand, not about their feet.”
