The poker view has changed - not how poker players view poker, but how the world tends to change its views and fine tune the picture as the law of demand brings the focus into a clear, precise avenue of income that can be accessed as long as you have the right drawing card. In this case, the drawing card is Michael "The Grinder" Mizrachi. Fine tuning the view is the Breeders' Cup Ltd. In an effort to attract poker players to pari-mutuel wagering on the Breeders' Cup championship days, a sponsorship has been established with poker superstar Michael Mizrachi.
The Breeders' Cup 2011 event will be held November 4th-5th at Churchill Downs. The partnership with Mizrachi is expected to help introduce wagering and liquidity of the two day Breeders' Cup World Championships to the poker players of the world.
“We believe that there is a strong cross-over between poker and horse racing, which has not yet been realized,” said Peter Rotondo, vice president of media and entertainment for Breeders’ Cup. “We’re thrilled to have a relationship with ‘The Grinder’ which will allow for one of poker’s superstars to reach out to the poker world and educate them about the Breeders’ Cup and the over $160-million in liquidity during our two-day event.”
Mizrachi has more than $11 million in career tournament earnings and is the youngest player on the top 10 career poker money list. Mizrachi took down the gold bracelet in the $50,000 buy-in Poker Players Championship and made the final table of the main event of the World Series of Poker in 2010.
“It’s an honor to be associated with such a well-known name as the Breeders’ Cup,” Mizrachi said. “I’ve long been a huge horse racing fan and I am pleased to have this opportunity to align myself with the richest horse racing event with such large wagering pools.”
Mizrachi's sponsorship is expected to be highlighted by access to his fans via social media, along with a promotional sweepstakes where the winner will attend the Breeders' Cup with Michael "The Grinder" Mizrachi.
