Another extension has been granted by the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York for the respondents of the amended civil complaint. The case the extension refers to is the United States of America vs. PokerStars, et al, which was filed on September 21st, 2011. The previous deadline of March 19th has passed and PokerStars, Full Tilt Poker, Absolute Poker, Ray Bitar, Rafe Furst, Howard Lederer, and payment processor Chad Elie now have until May 14th, 2012, to respond.

New developments have been the cause of the extensions that have been granted since the original response date for the respondents expired on November 30th, 2011. The wording of the most recent extension is very similar to what was contained in past extensions. Judge Leonard B. Sand signed the latest Stipulation and Order for Full Tilt Poker on March 20th which states the following:

"Full Tilt Poker shall have until 5/14/2012 to answer or otherwise respond to the Amended Complaint."

The deal between French investment firm Groupe Bernard Tapie and Full Tilt Poker is expected to be completed in the next few weeks according to multiple reports. Although Groupe Bernard Tapie and the Department of Justice reached an agreement on the complex sale of Full Tilt Poker last November, everyone is still waiting.

Last week Groupe Bernard Tapie attorney Behnam Dayanim said he is "reasonably confident" that the agreement to purchase Full tilt Poker will soon be complete.
