The World Series of Poker will host the biggest single poker event in history this summer – the $1 million buy-in The Big One for One Drop. The idea that started this tournament belongs to Canadian billionaire Guy Laliberté who is also Chair of the One Drop foundation.
The event with an expected eight-figure first place prize will take place at the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino on July 1st during the WSOP. A number of poker celebrities have already confirmed their participation in the $1,000,000 buy-in tournament, including Daniel Negreanu, Tom Dwan, Bertrand “ElkY” Grospellier, Gus Hansen, Patrik Antonius, Antanas “Tony G” Guoga, Johnny Chan and Jonathan Duhamel.

Apart from being the biggest poker event in the history of the world, The Big One for One Drop will also serve an honorable cause by donating $111,111 of every $1 million buy-in to the One Drop foundation with the rest of the cash – $888,889 going into the tournament prize pool.
One Drop’s prime objective is to help people who don't have access to clean water. The Big One for One Drop is also meant to raise the issue among poker ambassadors as well as the rest of the poker community. The goal is expected to be reached by televising the event nationwide on ESPN.
