It's another day of World Series of Poker happenings and odds and ends around the universe that have already been aired but we felt they were worth a second gasp. Downtown3rd will host a new Vegas Entertainment Brand that should bring about new hotels and casinos and lounges and restaurants. Negreanu is off and running at the mouth in his latest edition - this time mainly focused on the WSOP and the WSOP fantasy draft. Shaun Deeb's grandmother, Ellen Deeb, is a poker player too - Shaun came by it naturally. Today's Shuffle is a short update but worth the read...

Downtown3rd – a New Vegas Entertainment Brand

The SLS Las Vegas project of resurrecting the legendary Sahara Hotel and Casino is not the only one currently taking place in the gambling capital of the world. Fifth Street Gaming, headed by CEO Seth Schorr is also in the process of establishing a new gambling resort under the Downtown3rd brand in the shadows of the empty Lady Luck on the Third Street. The new brand should feature hotels and casinos as well as 18 lounges and restaurants all located within five blocks around Third Street.

“Ultimately, when we open the Downtown Grand next year and I say it's at Downtown3rd, people already know what that is,” Schorr said. However, the biggest challenge for the new project is the two abandoned Lady Luck towers. “No matter how lively the street is, you see these two dark towers. To (tourists), it might as well say, 'Street's closed. Do not enter. I found that the towers are my biggest obstacle to open restaurants,” Schorr explained.

Daniel Negreanu's WSOP Rant

This time Daniel Negreanu kept it short and sweet. In the latest edition of the Weekly Rant Negreanu talked a little about his first day at the World Series of Poker and the early bust. He also commented on the WSOP executive director Ty Stewart playing the employees event and creating a bond with the players. Another topic that Daniel covered was the WSOP fantasy draft which took place last Saturday. During the draft Negreanu bet $83 on himself, $83 on Eugene Katchalov, $1 on Viktor Blom, $5 on Vanessa Selbst, $1 on Crazy Marco Johnson, $1 on Jonathan Duhamel as well as on a few other guys.

Here is the full rant.

Shaun Deeb's Grandma to Play the WSOP Main Event

Poker runs in Shaun Deeb's blood, and not just because he's a hard-bitten online grinder. Deeb's grandmother Ellen Deeb plays poker as well and not just home games – last year she became the oldest woman to play the 2011 WSOP Main Event at the age of 91 and her grandson was the one who bought her in. She even wanted to rebuy after an early bust in Day 1C of the tournament. Earlier this year she was also spotted at the cheering for her grandson.

This summer she's coming back to the Rio to take another shot at the WSOP title. Shaun confirmed to PokerNews on Monday, that “Grandma Deeb” will be playing in the Main Event again this year.”
