Event #59 held a massive roll call for 4,620 players in $1,000 No Limit Holdem Event. First Place had Dominik Nitsche's name on it but the rest of the payday would be divided up between the remaining 465 places finishing in the money. The four-day event attracted the largest field of the year and will only be topped by the Main Event.
Nitsche has had tournament success all over the world - a Latin American Poker Tour title, cashes all over Europe, the European Poker Tour, a World Poker Tour final table (in Marrakech, Morocco), and now a World Series of Poker bracelet!
Nitsche and his countryman Jan-Peter Jachtmann, winner of Event 39: $10,000 Pot-Limit Omaha, are both taking the gold home to Germany this summer.
Nitsche was described as being a steam roller at the final table. When heads-up play began it was Dominik Nitsche with 10.5 million chips to Jonathan Hilton's 3.4 million. They played back and forth for about an hour but Hilton was never able to add much to his stacks of ammunition. He survived a few double-ups but he was all-in when Nitsche shoved with the
