Alex Masek just took home Ring #6 to become the all-time WSOP Circuit Ring Winner. In December Maske won his fifth WSOP Circuit ring at Harrah's Rincon which tied him with Kyle Cartwright and Mark "Pegasus" Smith. Erick Lindgren is in rehab

We wish this was a laughing matter and we could find a way to choke it into being sarcastically funny but a few us know Erick Lindgren and after watching him blossom into a high limit poker player, we are watching the bud shrivel and gasp for a fresh start as he tries to break out of a self-built prison of gambling addiction.

It would be difficult to figure out when Lindgren fell. Four years ago Lindgren was part of the sponsored professional team and an owner of Full Tilt Poker and held the 2008 World Series of Poker Player of the Year award.

Those that weren't in the know soon found out when a thread started at on Lindgren's failure to pay on fantasy football bets. The steep hill leading to a severe freefall into empty space had Lindgren spinning even further down when's exclusive interview with Howard Lederer cut clear to the bone when Lederer stated that Lindgren had received a loan from Full Tilt Poker - TWICE! The second credit of $2 million was a mistake made by Full Tilt Poker - Lindgren didn't return it even though Lederer asked him to.'s Editor-in-Chief Lance Bradley found Lindgren at Morningside Recovery where he isn't trying to find a cure for gambling, he's trying to find a way to control what he does for a living...gambling.

Remember Chad Elie?

Chad Elie was part of the Department of Justice's witch hunt that found 11 people charged in the government crackdown on Internet poker on Black Friday. Just as Daniel Tzvetkoff was going to appear to testify in the trial of John Campos and Elie, Elie struck a plea agreement.

Elie's five-month sentence was due to begin on Monday, January 7th, but Judge Lewis Kaplan delayed the reporting date by three weeks; the additional time would allow prison officials to review Kaplan's recommendation. Elie was having a tweet fit on Twitter back in December; he was furious when he heard his new home was going to be the Brooklyn Metropolitan Detention Center: "I kept our freedoms open, and now I get to go to PRISON with rapist and murders."

Once Elie found out that Judge Kaplan was asking for other arrangements for him, his tweet fit changed to nicey-nice.

From our POV, Elie just pulled off the biggest suck out of his life considering the way the whole hand started and progressed - right down to the river card.
