The European Poker Tour festivities in London will be the official setting for the Team PokerStars vs. Team Full Tilt Poker heads-up challenge. PokerStars made the announcement on Friday that three sponsored pros from each site will fight it out for bragging rights and $300,000.

Daniel Negreanu, Isaac Haxton and Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier will represent Team PokerStars, and Team Full Tilt Poker will be represented by "The Professionals" — Gus Hansen, Tom Dwan and Viktor Blom. Full Tilt Poker will host the action which will be played in a "battleship" style format where the 'best of three' structure determines the winner. The winners of each match collect $50,000 from his rival and each member of the overall winning team gets $10,000 in tournament buy-ins from the rival online poker room.

Sunday, March 10th at 10 a.m. ET has been set for kick off and everyone can log into Full Tilt Poker and rail the action.

Negreanu went to his video blog on Thursday and explained the details:

Hansen got to pick the matchups because Negreanu had such a wide selection of players to choose from. Hansen's picks:

Daniel Negreanuvs.Gus Hansen
Bertrand Grospelliervs.Viktor Blom
Isaac Haxtonvs.Tom Dwan

The match started on Twitter last week when Hansen sent a Tweet to Negreanu to remind him of a famous hand they played on High Stakes Poker in 2006. One needle deserves another so Negreanu reminded Hansen of his poor showing on Full Tilt Poker in 2013 so far. They decided to settle it with a heads-up challenge where Negreanu would choose fellow Team PokerStars members to play against Hansen, Dwan and Blom. Everything went according to plan when the challenge was accepted and Negreanu chose Haxton and Grospellier as his team.

You can get in on the action. Make a real money deposit or transfer of at least $10 on Full Tilt Poker until March 8th at 23:59 ET (and receive an entry to three $10,000 Freerolls) and pick the winner in each heads-up game. Find more information about the event here.
