The 2013 World Series of Poker started Event #13: $5,000 7 Card Stud Hi/Lo 8 or Better with 210 players and ended with Mike “The Mouth” Matusow besting a stacked final table to take home his fourth gold bracelet and $266,503 in prize money.
In January Matusow won the NBC National Heads-Up Championship for $750,000, His road to the championship in WSOP Event 13 was a roller coaster ride which included taking down Matthew Ashton in the final heads-up battle.
Ashton finished third in Event #5 $2,500 Omaha/Seven-Card Stud Hi/Lo 8-or-Better for $86,437 less than a week ago, just missed out on another bracelet, but he had $164,700 in prize money as consolation.

Mike Matusow hit the history books and joined other poker legends when he won the $5,000 Seven-Card Stud Hi/Lo 8-or-Better event. His new bracelet adventure gave him an entry to the four-time bracelet winners club — that includes Puggy Pearson, Amarillo Slim, Bobby Baldwin, and Huck Seed, and others.
The exceptionally tough final table included Mike Leah, David "Bakes" Baker, Yuval Bronshtein, Gavin Smith, Vladimir Shchemelev, and Matthew Ashton, who was Matusow's last opponent for the bracelet. Matusow's cheers could be heard throughout the Rio when he locked up the victory.
