The $1,500 Ante-Only No Limit Hold'em event started with 678 players who jumped into the second-ever event and built a prize pool of $915,300. But it was Ben Volpe at the end, who claimed his first bracelet and $201,399 in prize money after surviving a rocky heads-up match against Paul Lieu.

2Paul Lieu$124,352
3Louis Bonnecaze$80,839
4Blair Hinkle$59,375
5Chris Moorman$44,227
6Horacio Chaves$33,371
7Adam Stone$25,472
8Danny Johnson$19,660
9Samuel Panzica$15,331

The was Volpe's third cash in the 2013 series and he survived an almost 100-hand heads-up battle after conquering a 12-hour final table.

Hand #240 put the finishing touch on the lengthy heads-up war when both players limped in to see a flop of {2-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{a-Clubs}. Lieu checked, Volpe bet 35,000 and Lieu quickly moved all-in only to be snap called. The cards were tabled.

Volpe: {6-Clubs}{3-Clubs}
Lieu: {a-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}

Lieu had a pair of aces, and managed to hold with the {10-Diamonds} turn but the {k-Clubs} on the river gave Volpe the flush. Volpe's rail swarmed the main stage, cheering his win of his first WSOP gold bracelet.
