Exciting times are going on at Full Tilt Poker. Three new Full Tilt Poker ambassadors for the Australia New Zealand Poker Tour (ANZPT) are part of the excitement as Jonathan Karamalikis, Liam O’Rourke, and Tom Grigg are brought on board. Australian tournament director, Danny McDonagh, sent the news out to the world during Day 1a of the Australia New Zealand Poker Tour (ANZPT) Queenstown Snowfest Main Event.
Last week the announcement was made that the UKIPT would have four new Full Tilt Poker ambassadors and the new trio is expected to have similar roles — playing online at Full Tilt Poker as Red Pros and playing in ANZPT events during the year. Expect them to also participate in player activities and certain promotions that are exclusive to Full Tilt Poker qualifiers.
“Our ANZPT Tour Ambassadors represent everything Full Tilt Poker stands for,” said Dustin Iannotti, Full Tilt Poker’s Senior Manager of Pro, Celebrity & VIP Marketing. “They are talented players with a passion for constantly improving their skill set, supporting grassroots poker and spreading the word about the game.”
The new Full Tilt Poker ambassadors:
Jonathan Karamalikis — Jono — is one of the most respected poker pros in Australia and has lifetime winnings of over $2 million. Known as "xMONSTERxDONGx" on the virtual felt, Karamalikis has cashed in online tournaments for more than $4 million. He won almost $480,000 in Taipai when he captured the 2012 Asia Championship of Poker High Rollers Event.
Liam O'Rourke has been on the scene since he turned 18; he racked up big wins online and started hitting the casinos. He took second place in the 2012 ANZPT Sydney Main Event and he's played more than a few high-profile tournament tables. As an ANZPT regular, Liam should have a great opportunity mix with fellow players — one of his goals.
Tom Grigg gave up the world of academia and moved into poker. He's had numerous six-figure cashes in live tournaments — last year's ANZPT Melbourne Main Event found him finishing in third place. Grigg is a Canberra native and looking forward to sharing his love for the game with local players. Look for him under his online handle "tollgate."
