Ultimate Poker was off and running after launching the United States' first real-money online poker room three months ago. Thursday found Nevada's first online poker room dealing its 10 millionth real-money poker hand — a milestone hand that culminated the celebration leading up to it.

A friendly little game of No Limit Hold'em with stakes of $.25/.50 brought the historic hand to life at 10:22 a.m. PST. The winner? Steven Kelly, 2010 World Series of Poker bracelet winner, who set his alarm and made it into a seat on time for the milestone hand. According to the 10 millionth hand brought around 700 real-money cash game players to the tables.

Kelly's Ultimate Poker handle is "SteveKelly" and he scooped the pot with an ace-high to claim $6.85 — but Ultimate Poker had more planned for the winner as part of the historical moment to celebrate the milestone promotion. Kelly received an additional prize of $5,000 and players seated with him took home $500 each.

The 10 millionth hand celebration began with 21 mini-milestone hands that led up to Ultimate Poker's big one. The 9 millionth hand started the party and Ultimate Poker gave away $23,000 in cash prizes leading up to 10 million. The mini-milestone hands awarded the winner of the hand $500 and players dealt in at the milestone hand tables earned $50.

“It’s incredible to be talking about our 10 millionth hand only three months after opening the doors," said Ultimate Gaming Chief Marketing Officer Joe Versaci. "It gives us a good opportunity to look back at how far we’ve come and an even better excuse to run a great promotion."

The Nevada Gaming Commission conducted a strict 90-day real-money trial period at Ultimate Poker and last Thursday Ultimate Gaming (parent company to Ultimate Poker) received final approval. Ultimate Poker holds the elite status of being the first U.S. online poker room to provide legal real-money game play and is Nevada's only online poker room to date.

Ultimate Poker has a seat open for anyone that is over 21 years of age and physically present in Nevada...residency not required. There are 16 Station Casino locations in Las Vegas to handle deposit or withdrawal requests which can also be done online through the Ultimate Poker lobby.
