If you've played at, or downloaded and looked at Ultimate Poker, logging in now will show you a deck of cards that cut and shuffle until the latest update finishes on your pc. The update took place over the weekend and brings table and tournament feature improvements, a newly added player awards program, and the online merchandise store.

Ultimate Poker is the first and only legal, real money online poker site in the United States and version two of the software became available on Saturday. Currently only players that are physically located within the state of Nevada are able to log on and play.

The software update brings the following to the new table features: animated avatars, resizable tables, bigger cards, preset betting buttons, and other improvements that add a player friendly feel to the whole structure which Poker Product Manager Chris Danek says are going to make multi-tabling easier for players.

News for tournament players is the addition of tournament tickets for seats into specific tournaments and tournament dollars known as U-dollars (U$) , late registration, and additional entries.

Ultimate Poker players are now immediately entered into the VIP program known as Color UP which is comprised of tiers that are broken down to eight monthly tiers and two yearly tiers — all players are automatically entered into the White Chip tier (Tier 1), which is the first of eight monthly tiers. Earning XP (Experience Points) sends players up through the tiers to more rewards and the Gold Plaque and Platinum Plaque tiers are the two yearly tiers reserved for the best players at Ultimate Poker. "This is just the first step," Ultimate Gaming Chief Marketing Officer Joe Versaci said in a press release. "We are dedicated to listening to our customers and are working hard to continually enhance and enrich the product by introducing new features and upgrades.
