The island of Aruba will play host to the Players Poker Championship Aruba World Championship when cards go in the air from October 2nd-9th, 2013. Eight feature events are in the spotlight with the brightest one shining on the $2,500 Main Event that boasts a $200,000 guarantee and runs from October 5th-9th. A massive $250,000 is guaranteed for the entire series.
For players that have been considering the poker themed Aruba vacation, the PPC has released news of a re-entry format for the main event that will give a 50% rakeback credit for anyone that re-enters and the credit can be used at any PPC Poker Tour stop. Example: A $2,250 buy-in and entry fee of $250 = a $125 tournament credit to everyone that re-enters.
Sandy Swartzbaugh, Co-Commissioner for the PPC, said: "The PPC Poker Tour was built by players, for the player. A poker player is his or her own business and entries can get expensive. By giving players that re-enter the PPC Aruba $2,500 Main Event $125 back toward entries into other PPC tour stops, players can invest back into themselves and minimize costs. The PPC Poker Tour will have 15-20 stops in 2014, making it one of the larger tours in the world."
The Radisson Aruba Resort will provide a beautiful, tropical background for the PPC Aruba World Championship when the festival opens with a $550 buy-in $40,000 guaranteed event. The finale will be a $10,000 guarantee bounty event that has a $350 buy-in. The events all kick off at 3 p.m. local time and the days are reserved for sun, fun, sand, fun, surf, fun, and more fun.
From Bryan Oulton, Co-Commissioner for the PPC, "The PPC Poker Tour was founded to approach the poker world with an eye to players’ needs. This groundbreaking approach to re-entries will assist the touring pro and amateur alike. Anyone who fires that second bullet or more into the PPC Aruba Main Event will do so knowing that besides another chance to win the tournament, they’re also giving themselves $125 towards future PPC Poker Tour stops."
