In September the World Series of Poker announced that 10 finalists had been chosen for the 2013 Poker Hall of Fame! And of the 10, Tom McEvoy and Scotty Nguyen were chosen by the living Poker Hall of Fame members and media representatives that had been selected to vote for the winner of this year's Hall of Fame nominees.

Tom McEvoy made his appointment announcement through Twitter:
I hold the record with the most nominations before getting elected. I lost the last 4 times, but the 5th time was the charm.
McEvoy and Nguyen were both bypassed four times before being voted into the elite Poker Hall of Fame.

McEvoy is the first Main Event winner to take a run through a satellite and become a WSOP Main Event champion. McEvoy's Main Event win came 30 years ago and he has since won three other WSOP bracelets and logs an impressive almost $2 million in lifetime tournament earnings.
Nguyen holds 12th place on the all-time poker money list with just under $12 million in winnings and took down the WSOP Main Event in 1998. His collection of WSOP gold bracelets comes to five and he has been at fifteen WSOP final tables not including his bracelet wins.
McEvoy and Nguyen will be inducted into the Poker Hall of Fame on November 3rd at the Rio in Las Vegas, Nevada, and runs in conjunction with the 2013 WSOP Main Event final table.
