New Jersey is set to launch real-money gambling on November 26th and the latest round of iGaming approvals was announced on Friday, November 15th, 2013. A list of Internet gaming companies was released by the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement that have received a license. Those listed companies have received the go-ahead to "engage in Internet gaming activities" when the market opens later this month.
One of the big questions that remains unanswered as of this date is will PokerStars be included in the transactional waiver list. An application filed with the DGE in July by the world's leading online poker room still remains under review by regulators. Wednesday, November 20th, will mark the next update from the DGE and that is also one day before the trial period for Web gambling begins in New Jersey. Will PokerStars be one of those invited in to offer its services to the state? Only time will tell.
New Jersey's "soft launch" trial period starts on November 21st and the DGE awarded transactional waivers last week to Caesars Interactive Entertainment, bwin.party, 888, Ultimate Poker, Betfair and Amaya Gaming.
The following list of 16 ancillary companies that received approval on Friday to offer Web gambling services in New Jersey is furnished by PokerNews.com.
