Let's take a quick hop through some the world's top gambling news topics and get you, and us, up-to-date with what we need to know about matters we have no control over but keeping tabs on them is in our best interest. And some of it's just fun and newsworthy, so let's get started.

NJ bill could allow the state to become an Internet gambling hub

New Jersey Assemblyman John Amodeo told the “World Regulatory Briefing USA focusing on iGaming” during a conference last month in Philadelphia that a New Jersey bill paves the way for the state to become a central hub for multistate online gaming. The Senate State Government, Wagering, Tourism and Historic Preservation Committee passed the bill on Thursday, November 14th, 2013.

Although the bill is heading to the full Senate for consideration, if passed, it would allow New Jersey to sell rights to other states for use of the gambling hub which would house internet gaming hardware and software within the borders of Atlantic City instead of inside casinos.

“Right now, a lot of casinos do not have the space required to maintain Internet gaming operations,” Sen. Jim Whelan, D-Atlantic, said. “By relocating the equipment for Internet gambling, we will give them the conditions to develop this activity properly.”
